Page 42 of Healing Fate
I opened my eyes to find him staring down at me in wonder. He grinned and gave me a gentle kiss.
“Why’d you stop me?” I asked him.
“Oh, sweetheart, we’re just getting started.”
I squealed as he lifted me off the ground and I wrapped my legs around him.
I grinned and kissed him when it brought him right to my core.
I shivered unsure I could take anymore.
“Are you okay?” he asked staring at me with concern.
“Never better. I’ve just, uh never done this before.”
At first he looked a little confused by my omission, I mean I did have a kid, but he also knew I hadn’t conceived her naturally.
“Shit!” he finally said as he put it altogether.
He started looking around the room and I could feel him pulling back.
I grabbed his face and pulled it back to me. “Don’t you dare stop now. I want it all and I want it with you.”
He nodded. “But not here.”
He held me tighter with one arm and reached for the door with the other. We streaked across the hall to one of the patient rooms where he laid me gently down on the table.
I giggled. “Here?”
“It’s the closest thing to a bed I have. I’m sorry. If I had thought about it and realized…”
“There is no way you can possibly work like this,” I said reached down between us and touching him.”
“There are other ways to take care of that.”
“Show me later,” I said watching his eyes blaze.
He groaned and I thought he was going to stop, but then he nudged my thighs apart a little further and then he was there.
The second we merged as one, everything in my world felt right. This was where I was meant to be, maybe not quite there in the office on one of the patient tables, but with this man.
My heart swelled as he took me gently, ensuring everything was perfect for me.
This time when my body began to wire tightly, I had some inkling of expectation and it excited me. Still, I held off wanting to bring him with me. And boy was I glad I waited.
Watching Micah lose control and let go was the greatest thing ever and it brought me to new heights I never even dreamed of.
Neither of us wanted to open the clinic again after that. Micah was ready to call out for the day, but I knew we couldn’t do that. This was his job and now mine too.
The rest of the day wasn’t nearly so tense. We shared glances that made me blush, stole kisses between patients, and by the time I went to pick up Vada, I realized that I had never been happier.
It terrified me.
*****
Friday was much the same as we started finding our groove, and not just in the patient room across from his office that Micah had now blocked off for only absolute emergencies insisting on using just the other two rooms.
Turned out we worked really well together.
