“Oh, aight, so it’s offensive?”
“To some people, yes. Woman or women is more respectful,” I continued to explain. “It acknowledges us as people first. The intent matters too—if you respect women, it’ll reflect in how you talk to them.”
“Got it. Women,” he nodded. “Thank you for putting me up on game.”
“Anytime.” I smiled. “That’s what I’m here for.”
“So, you gon’ tell us the answer, woman?” Adonis teased.
“Yes, but after you take your shot, sir.”
“Bruh,” he playfully groaned. “I’m starting to think you got that game just to get a nigga drunk.”
“Maybe.” I grinned. “Drink up.”
Chuckling, he refilled his shot glass then tossed it back.
“Black American Princesses.” I smirked then laughed at both of their reactions.
“What the hecky?” Apollo laughed. “How were we supposed to know that?”
“I didn’t really expect you to know, Apollo because you’re younger than us, but Adonis, I’m disappointed in you.”
“I don’t know why.” He laughed. “Fuck I look like watching that shit?”
“We’ll watch it tonight.”
“Shiddd, you gon’ be watching that shit on ya own.” he replied and I giggled.
He grabbed a card from the deck. A sexy smirk teased at the corner of his lips as he read over it then his eyes connected to mine.
“AP, let her answer this one.”
“No, that’s not fair! I asked you both the question.”
“He know this.”
“So! Don’t try to change the rules!” I grinned. “You’re being a sore loser.”
“Aight, fuck it,” His eyes moved to his brothers briefly and they shared a look before he read the question off. “What does CB4 stand for?”
I sat silently, waiting for Apollo to answer. When he didn’t answer I looked his way and he shrugged.
“Oh, wow, Apollo,” I laughed. “You know you know the answer.”
“I don’t, sis,” his little ass lied. “What’s the movie, bro?”
“CB4 is the movie.” Adonis answered causing me to kiss my teeth.
“I like how you two are acting clueless.”
“How, baby?” he chuckled. “You can’t make the man know the answer.”
“You just said he would!”
“Well, he don’t,” he smirked. “You gon’ guess or take ya shot?”
“I have to wake up early.”
