“Quit frontin’ like you ain’t happy to see a nigga.” I chuckled.

“Anyway, I was making sure Derrick or his minions weren’t out there. He’s been blowing me up.”

“Nigga not out there, and he better be glad. I’m gon’ do him somethin’ dirty if he push up here.”

“Not at my parents’ house.” She shook her head, pulling me inside before she shut the door.

“Don’t matter where we at. I’ll buss his ass and just apologize to your people later.”

“Anyway,” she playfully rolled her eyes. “What are you doing here?”

“Wanted to see you.” I smirked. “Fuck you in here doin’?”

“Packing,” she answered then started for the steps. “Come on.”

I followed behind her fine ass like a sick puppy, keeping my eyes trained on that phat ass the entire time. Jruelle knew she was the total package. She wasn’t the thickest thing I’d ever seen, but she damn sure was the baddest and had the perfect amount of every fucking thing that a nigga could want.

Once we were inside her bedroom, I closed the door behind me then laid across her bed.

“Shit still look the same in here.”

The only thing that was different was the comforter set for real. Shit was still pastel green like it was when we were kids. There were pictures of her, her sister, and their parents on one of the walls. Her cheerleading pictures, some of her awards, and even a photo that we took when we were at the park one daywere on another. My heart skipped a beat seeing the bear I’d won for her at our school carnival day because I didn’t know she still had the shit. She’d begged me to win something for her. A nigga was good at hoops, so I won her the biggest bear they had there.

“You know how my mom is.” Jru chuckled. “She didn’t want to change anything when me and Geri moved out.”

“I fuck with it.” I smirked. “Makes the good ol’ days really feel like the good ol’ days.”

“Oh, how I wish I could go back to those times.” She sighed, plopping down on the bed next to me. “Those times truly were the best, but I’d definitely change some things.”

I nodded in agreement as I stared at her. “Yeah, I can fa show think of some shit I’d do differently.”

She glanced back at me, noticing the way I was looking at her and probably figuring out what I would have changed because she blushed and turned away quickly.

“What are you really here for, Adonis?”

“Wanted to see ya pretty ass face,” I smirked. “And I wanted to chill with you. That cool?”

“You’re here,” she smiled and got up from the bed, walking to her dresser to grab a bottle of medicine.

“What’s that?”

“Oh, just pain meds.” She shrugged. “I told you my cycle was on.”

“Ya cramps and shit that bad that you got a prescription for the shit?”

“Sometimes.”

“Aight what else comforts you during ya monthly?” I asked, pulling my phone from my pocket.

“What do you mean?”

“Like foods and shit. I know women be having comfort foods and shit like that.”

“Oh, no, I know my parents have stuff downstairs…”

“I didn’t ask you that, beautiful.” I lowered my phone to smile at her. “I’m hungry too, and since you don’t feel good, I won’t ask you to cook me anything. I’ll just order us both something, plus whatever snacks you might want later.”

“I don’t know what I want to eat.”
