I heard his thoughts, heard him thinking about me, and how watching Drake and I together turned him on. As angry as I should be at him for spying, I’m intrigued as hell now.

The sudden thought of Abdiel being touched by someone else brings a sickening feeling to my gut, and I’m not sure why. I have no claim staked in him whatsoever. He's not mine, and for all I know, he could be involved with someone. Though I haven't noticed him with anyone...

I make a mental note to check up on this while I continue to watch him casually, sipping my drink and picking at my food.

Smoke billows down to earth, but it's colorful. Purples and blues and pinks surround us while we laugh, and dance and sing.

A voice calls from somewhere, but I can’t find it. All I see is colorful smoke and plants sprouting from the earth faster than I can blink.

Suddenly, the ground beneath my feet caves in and I'm falling. I scramble to grab onto dirt and roots as I tumble, but it's no use.

I scream as I fall into the abyss, the darkness below taking on the shape of two eyes.

"Fuck!" I gasp, shooting up in bed, my heart hammering out of my chest.

Sweat lines my brow, and I wipe it away with the back of my hand as I choke for air, sucking in breaths.That was crazy...

What the hell was that dream?

My breathing finally evens out, and I rub my eyes. I shouldn't be surprised that I dreamt of them again, even in such a strange capacity. After the way Head Priest was looking at me at dinner tonight...

Staring at me in a way he never has before. The look in his crystal eyes...

It was as if he couldhearwhat I was thinking.

I know that doesn't make sense, but I can't stop considering it. The way he and Drake were together, their connection while they were fucking. The way they gazed at each other, reading one another without speaking a word.

That was how Head Priest looked at me tonight. Like he knew my secrets. There was no barrier of my mind left. He wasinsideit.

I'm not sure how something like that would be possible, but the thought keeps coming back to me... Whatever the Serpent shot into his veins, it could hold the answers to my many questions.
