“No! Levon, what are you doing? You can’t hurt your brother!

” The lady screamed on the other end of the device.

We were able to get the address of Shadow’s mother’s house from the third guy we snatched up.

Buddy refused to give up any other information, so we killed him earlier.

Once I got some leverage on them, I felt like I would be able to get what I needed.

“Momma! Fuck! It’s all their fault. They got us in some bullshit that we didn’t ask for. What am I supposed to do?” Levon cried while splitting his attention between the screen and his brother.

“Lucas, please do whatever they are asking for. You can’t let that girl take our whole family down with her.”

“Ma, don’t say anything else!” Shadow warned her. I wasn’t completely sure what the connection was between him and the girl who robbed Remi, but he was willing to sacrifice everyone in order to protect her.

The anger in her voice let me know whoever she was talking about must have been a menace. I wasn’t big on killing women unless it was necessary, but I couldn’t wait to get my hands on that bitch. She messed with the wrong one and she would have to pay for what she did.

“Ma, please.”

“She is a demon! She has been since the day she was born. I knew she would be the downfall of this family, but this has gone too far!” his mother shouted.

“Time’s up! Either you pull the trigger or I’ma let your brother get the gun so you can see how fast he pulls the trigger on you.

This ain’t no mothafuckin’ family reunion in this bitch!

” I roared. They must have forgotten where they were, but my patience had gone out the window a long time ago.

I gave another signal for them to finish the job.

Micah held the gun to the old lady’s head as she cried.

“No! No!” Levon and Shadow cried out. I tried to hold my laughter, but they looked so foolish. It never had to go this far if Shadow would have told me what I needed to know earlier but since he chose wrong everyone would feel me.

“Lord, have mercy on me. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will far no evil, for thou art—” Bow . The sound of the gun going off blasted through the speaker. I nodded my head toward Huncho to cut the video.

“Mama!”

“Fuck!” They were both crying as Huncho walked away with the device. He stood next to me with his arms crossed in front of him.

“Now back to what we were doing. You need to make your decision, Levon. Is it cool if I call you that?” I asked as if it mattered. They were nothing more than two dead bodies to me.

“Yes. That’s my name.”

“I’m sorry for your loss. It’s a shame your brother couldn’t make better choices. Now go ahead and do what you need to do.” His lips were quivering, and for a moment I almost felt bad for him until I remembered the two million dollars they were flexing with and were probably spending on bullshit.

“The clock is ticking, and I won’t tell you again. If I have to take matters into my own hands, it will be far more painful for the both of you.”

“Do it, Von. I don’t have shit else to live for.” Shadow sniveled. Pussy ass bitch. He should have thought about his loose wig wearing momma when he did what he did.

“I love you, Bro,” Levon expressed before pulling the trigger.

Brain matter and blood splattered everywhere.

It honestly shocked me that he went through with it because I thought I would have to do it myself.

Levon fell to his knees and sobbed loudly.

Huncho and Ammo were ready to end this so we could move on.

However, I still needed answers to my question.

Ammo walked over and picked him up from the ground then brought him over to me.

Laying at my feet, I saw a young man who got caught up in some shit that his family roped him into.

He didn’t seem to know much, but unfortunately for him I couldn’t leave any loose ends.

I didn’t get this far in my career by sparing people and I wasn’t about to start now.

“Who is the woman behind all this? I already know she robbed my cousin and took the money. All I need is a name.”

“Am I gonna die?” he whispered under his breath.

“Yes. However, your answers will determine whether it’s quick or painful. It’s up to you.” He nodded his head in understanding. He hesitated, so I stepped closer to him.

“What do you know about what happened?”

“I was telling the truth when I told you I had nothing to do with this. She came to our momma’s house one night with a car that wasn’t hers.

She had my brothers bring the bags in the house and told them all of our problems were taken care of.

I was still away at school, but I was on the phone with my brother when it happened.

She said she hit a lick, and we were up.

” He shrugged his shoulders, wiping the tears from his eyes.

“Where does she live?”

“She was staying over there at the Woodbury apartments, but I believe she moved somewhere else. She has a boyfriend named Reece or Remi who stays in the hills, but I don’t know where specifically.” She must have told them her and Remi were together, which further confirms we had the right person.

“She got a job?”

“Not anymore. She used to work at Rackzz, but she quit after the money came in.” When he mentioned the name of the club, I frowned. That was the club Duke co-owned.

“Who is she to you? What’s her name?” His eyes locked with mine, and I could tell he was afraid I would kill him as soon as I got the information I needed.

“Answer me, mothafucka!” I roared, getting impatient with all this back and forth. He was pulling back as his eyes filled with regret.

“I’ve already said too much. Just go ahead and kill me so I can be with my family.”

“I should be upset, but I kind of respect your stance. You want to die with a little bit of honor so your family doesn’t look at you like a bitch when you all meet up in hell.

You gave me enough to work with, so I’ll still make sure they give you a homegoing fit for a king.

Well, that’s if you have any family left after I’m done with them.

” One bullet to the dome silenced him for life.

Ammo and the others got to work to discard the bodies.

“Take them back to their house and set the bitch on fire. Make it look like a robbery gone wrong.” I walked out of the room and into the shower area.

I promised my girl I would take her to see some lame ass movie at the park.

Juicy had been real distant lately and it made me worry.

I tried to pick her brain, but she swore nothing was going on.

I might have let it go if it wasn’t for the fact that she kept avoiding my touch.

Juicy was normally the type to climb in my skin at night, but for the last few days she had been damn near on the floor from how close to the edge she was.

While I may not be an expert on women, I was very well versed on body language.

Either I fucked up somewhere along the lines, or she was hiding something from me.

After I got out the shower, I dried off and tossed on some sweats.

I would get dressed once I made it home.

I tossed my duffel bag over my shoulder as I headed out to the car.

When I stepped outside, I noticed Huncho waiting by my car smoking a cigarette.

He wore the same blank expression as Pure when it came to handling business.

He talked more than my brother but the two of them possessed similar personality traits.

“You good? What you still doing here?” I inquired as I tossed my bag into the back seat. The way my body felt, I would have much rather stayed home tonight, but I had to push through.

“You know I don’t ever leave until you leave. Plus, Ammo and nem are still tying up some loose ends,” he replied, tossing the remnants of the cigarette onto the ground before he smashed it with his foot.

“I appreciate it. Although I keep telling you that you don’t need to wait on me. Ain’t nobody crazy enough to sneak me, and if they were, I stay trained to go.”

“I hear you, Grim, but it ain’t just about you being capable.

I take my job seriously, and in order for me to sleep good at night, I gotta see the shit through myself.

You might be good on your own, but I’m still doing my job.

” I respected his stance, so I didn’t bother to argue with him.

Hell, I had enough battles to fight, so I would leave this one alone.

“Do you want me to hit up the club tomorrow to see if we can get more information?”

“Naw, I want to handle it myself. Duke co-owns the place, so I’m gonna see if we can get access to the security tapes or something.

If not, I’m sure one of those women won’t mind telling me what I want to know if the price is right.

” He nodded while I searched for my lighter. I needed a blunt in the worst way.
