“Youaren’t doing anything. It’s your big day. I’m just a little distracted.”
“Yeah. Who the fuck is that guy with Lana? Looks like an uninvited guest got through security.”
“I think I have an idea.” I’m pretty sure it’s her ex.
“I got your back.” Matt stands taller beside me.
“Thanks, man. Hopefully this guy knows what’s good for him. I’m not trying to ruin your wedding.”
“You wouldn’t be ruining shit.”
Then the guy talking to Lana, her fucking ex, puts his grimy little hands on her. She tries to pull out of his grasp, clearly not wanting his touch. I stalk over to them with heavy feet, but then it gets worse. He leans in. She leans back, but he’s holding her so she can’t get far, and then he fucking kisses her.
Oh, hell no!
Chapter 54
Lana
His lips are on mine! I was just having sex with Grant and then this guy comes here and kisses me. I don’t kiss him back, but the feeling of Ryan in my arms again is making the moment feel nostalgic. He still smells the same. I’ve been waiting years to be close to him again.
I can’t help but notice there’s no spark, no tingles, no electricity. It’s nothing like when I kiss Grant. I long for Grant at this moment, with another guy’s lips on mine. All it’s doing is making me want to feel long hair between my fingers. Ryan’s is short. I want to feel the security of Grant’s muscular arms around me, Ryan’s are thin.
Even with the realization hitting me in the face of Ryan not being my match striking me, I still want to talk to him. Ryan slips something into my hand as he kisses me. I grip at the object, curious to see what it is.
Then the lips are pulled away. I open my eyes which closed out of habit and find Grant holding Ryan by the collar.
“Don’t you fucking touch her!” Grant rumbles, with Matt right behind him.
“Who the fuck are you?” Ryan pushes Grant.
“I could ask you the same fucking thing.” Grant shoves him back. “Stop touching her. It’s clear she doesn’t want you.”
“Lana...” Ryan looks over to me.
“Don’t you fucking look at her.” Grant steps in between Ryan and I, cutting off our line of sight. “Don’t talk to her or try anything ever again! You’ve done enough. I suggest you leave before my fist ends up through yourstomach.”
Ryan looks over at me again and if I don’t do something, Grant is going to go full Viking on the guy. I debate if I want to see that happen, but it’s my best friend’s wedding. That wouldn’t be good.
“Just leave, Ryan.”
Ryan hesitates for a moment. He’s staring at Grant, probably wondering if he could take him. I doubt it. He decides to rush off through the kitchen as the note in my hand burns.

Scarlett rushes over to me. “What the heck was that?”
“I’m so sorry, Scar! I didn’t know he was coming.”
“Oh, don’t worry. A little drama at a wedding never hurt anyone. If anything it’s encouraged. We almost had a Wild West moment happen over my girl.” She embraces me in a half hug. “You okay? You haven’t seen him in a while. How did he know you were here?”
“I think I’m okay. I don’t know how he found me. Maybe he saw your announcements on social media? He’s been trying to contact me. He knows how to get information he wants when it suits him.”
“That slimy little weasel,” Paige pipes in. “If Grant wasn’t going to do something, I would’ve. The nerve of him to show up here.”
“Where did Grant go?” I search the room.
“I think Matt took him to get a drink after security came,” Scarlett assures me. “Matt was furious they let in an uninvited guest. They’re checking into how he got in. He might’ve slipped through the kitchen. All the waiters wear black pants and a white shirt, so it’s not hard to impersonate one of the staff.”
