“I’m just open. I know you’re thinking it.”

I’m absolutely thinking about it. I want my hands through his hair, holding him down as he goes down on me and then pulling him up to get on top of him. That sounds like a good fucking time right now.

“You’ll have to wait until tomorrow,” she says with a sigh. “Scarlett is in her planning mode. She doesn’t have time for a nice fuck, even though she could use one.”

“I heard that!” Scarlett shouts as she comes over with her hands on her hips. “Paige, you’re supposed to be focusing. We don’t have long.”

“Aye, aye captain.” Paige salutes. “She needs the hugest dick in the world,” she murmurs to me.

Scarlett rolls her eyes and marches off to straighten out the guys at the altar, directing and calling out orders. Matt grins as he watches her every movement, looking proud of his soon to be wife.

God, I want that.

I stay standing, now avoiding Grant’s eyes as I wait for my cue. Paige already called me out. I don’t want to take attention off the tasks at hand. My hands play with the hem of my shirt. Then the sound of footsteps catches my attention, coming closer and closer.

Grant’s hands embrace the sides of my face. He bends down a little so he can kiss me and takes away my breath. I was not expecting this. It’s not a little peck either. It’s got tongue, passion, and sparks for days. Just as quickly as he came, he leaves and takes his place up at the altar. His hands cross in front of his crotch, but he stands tall. I’m smiling as my ears heat up to a hundred degrees. I must have a red face and a dazed look in my eyes.

Scarlett looks stunned—for a second, and then goes back to shuffling everyone around with a knowing smirk on her face.

“Damn, girl, what’d you do to him? He’s falling hard,” Jason states.

I don’t dare take my eyes off Grant for the rest of the rehearsal. Before I know it, Matt and Grant are whisked away and I still have the buzz of Grant’s lips on mine.

“Soooo, someone just made their claim on you tonight,”Paige tells me as she sits with her legs crisscrossed on the couch. “I know you’re in a relationship with him, but that’s all we know. Care to share some details? Like how exactly a caveman has taken over your life?” She pauses and then murmurs, “In this case, I guess it’d be a Viking.”

We’re at the house Matt rented out for the wedding. It’s basically just as stunning as the one I’m staying at with Grant. It’s on a cliff overlooking the ocean as well. I think the only difference is it’s painted a different color.

I grin and pet Queenie, ignoring her.

“Is Miss Cupid in love?” Scarlett eggs on.

“You know I hate when you call me that!” I point at Scarlett.

“Give us some answers. It’s a command fromthebride.”

I roll my eyes. “There’s only so much time until you’ll have to come up with another excuse for bossing us around.”

“I’m using every second of it.” She grins. Then she pats my leg. “Now, tell useverything!”

I do. I tell them everything from him sending me flowers, to me going out to his house, to picking him up at the airport, and the night at the beach house he surprised me with. It’s nice to be happy instead of sulking.

“You have seemed brighter over the last couple weeks, but tonight you were positively glowing.” Paige claps her hands together—chipper little thing.

“Yeah, I agree with Paige. You really like him—or dare I say, love him?” Scarlett pushes her eyebrows up and down.

I try to hide my smile. I do really like him, but I can’t say I’m in love out loud. I’m not quite finished with my past relationship. Something is still bugging me and I need to get to the bottom of it.

Chapter 51

Lana

The next day is a whirlwind of makeup, hair, setting up last minute details, and keeping Scarlett from interfering with her own plans. Now it’s showtime, which means I have to walk down the aisle. I take my place in line, dreading walking by myself. This many eyes on me at the same time hasn’t happened in a long while. The music plays—a melodic tone, simple and elegant. I look down at my dress, a deep, red silk. The color looks great on anyone. I feel pretty, but I’m still a little nervous. Scarlett and Matt must’ve invited over one hundred people.

Don’t trip. Don’t stumble.

I wait to go into the room where the ceremony will take place. It’s covered in red roses. There are petals leading to the altar, chandeliers sparkling, candles lit. The space filled with romance and love. I take a deep breath and look down as the roses I’m holding shake while I wait for my cue.
