Bram gave me beseeching puppy eyes, but I still told them. The threats and harassment they piled on him had me laughing more while Bram pretended to be crushed. It was broken up by the arrival of what appeared to be most of the club.
Bull and Jocelyn led the crowd. Both of them gently hugged me.
The others called out greetings and either shook Loki’s hand or hugged him.
Eventually, we were escorted inside. Inside the clubhouse, the remainder waited.
They’d stayed inside to keep an eye on the kids.
I found it so incredible to have so many babies and younger children around.
I was looking forward to Wrath’s chapter ending up the same way one day.
I knew Mom would be over the moon when it did.
She was counting the days before I hooked up with Loki until Jalisa and Wrath announced their first baby was on the way.
Before I left, she told me she would accept Loki and me making her a grandma whenever we wanted.
I groaned, but my man grinned and told her he’d get to work on it.
I knew his club family was anxious to see and speak to him, so I sat back on the sofa he took me to and let them chat. I wasn’t left out. They were wonderful hosts, ensuring I wasn’t thirsty, or needed food or a bathroom.
We stayed for not quite an hour before Loki announced I needed to rest. We were asked if we’d come back later to have dinner.
The other women had plans to prepare a meal for everyone.
If we weren’t feeling up to it, they offered to bring food to us.
Before Loki could say no, I said we’d be there, just tell us when. Six o’clock was the time given.
I was hustled back into the SUV and driven to Loki’s house. It was further back than most of the houses, and I was excited to see it. Bram brought in our bags and returned the vehicle to wherever it came from.
The outside was a Craftsman-style house made of a combination of brick, shake vinyl, and board-and-batten siding, giving it three different patterns and textures.
As you entered the front door via a covered porch, to the right was an extended section that housed the three-car garage.
It was there that he parked his bike. To the right of the entryway was a large opening with columns and a large room.
Even without a table and chairs, I could tell it was a formal dining room.
Off to the left were the stairs to the second floor.
Loki tried to get me to go straight to the bedroom and rest, but I wanted to see the house first. Passing through the dining room, I was in a short hallway leading to a kitchen and breakfast room.
Part of the counter allowed four stools to be used as extra seating.
In addition to the door to the garage, there was a closet and a kids’ nook for coats and shoes before entering the laundry room.
I saw a deep sink, cabinetry, and counter space.
The hallway then formed an L-shape that led to a full bathroom and a bedroom with a small walk-in closet.
Straight across from the entry was a great room open to above, with doors leading outside to a grilling porch. On the wall shared by the hall to the main bedroom was a fireplace with built-ins on both sides of it.
The hallway on that side of the house went left and right.
The left side led to an empty room. Loki explained that it could be used as an office or a nursery.
The rest of the first floor was the main bedroom and bathroom.
The bathroom had dual sinks, a separate shower, a tub, and a large walk-in closet.
I admitted I was impressed. He had furnished the breakfast room, great room, and primary bedroom only.
Upstairs, I found what were called theater balconies overlooking the entry and the great room below.
There were two bedrooms, another full bath, and a long bonus room.
I could picture it as a theater room, a play area for children, or a combination room.
We ended up back downstairs in the great room. Loki gave me a slightly anxious look.
“What do you think? Is this something you can work with? We can have work done and create another bedroom and bathroom upstairs if three secondary bedrooms aren’t enough.
Or if this isn’t to your liking, we can build a different one.
I doubt this would go to waste. Several brothers are still single and don’t have houses, but we seem to add more every few years. ”
“Alexander, stop, please. There is no reason to start over. The house is beyond lovely. I happen to like the Craftsman look. As for size, three extra bedrooms should be good. If anything, we could add a Murphy bed in the bonus room. That way, we can use it for a playroom, theater, or whatever, most of the time, and then have a place for Mom and Rage or someone else who visits to sleep. And the office slash nursery idea is wonderful. I can’t believe you built something this big.
You must’ve always intended to have an old lady and kids. ”
“I sure hoped I would have them, so I planned for it. If I never did, I would’ve seen if a brother wanted it, and I would’ve had something much smaller built. Are you sure? Don’t just say it’s alright to save money.”
“I’m not.”
“As you saw, I left a lot to be furnished. We can use your stuff from Georgia or buy new. If the existing stuff isn’t to your taste, we can replace it. I have no idea about paint and decor, so I’m counting on you to help me decide what we can both live with.”
“I can’t wait to do it. Not being able to paint and do those sorts of things is one of the things I dislike most about renting.
The other is sharing walls with others and watching every sound you make.
But it made no sense for me to own a house when it was only me, and I was so busy.
I’m gifting you with the mowing. I don’t mind landscaping and that sort of yardwork, but I dislike the others. ”
Loki was seated next to me. He smirked and brought me closer. “I might be able to agree to that, though you might have to pay me in some way.”
“Tell me more,” I whispered a moment before I kissed him.
