CHAPTER FORTY-ONE
_____________
h3artl3ssiszoom: WTF are they doing at a club? Shouldn’t they be doing race things?
elite_speeding: That dress is ridiculous. Get over yourself, ****.
glitter.n.gore_: That dress is fantastic and I need it immediately.
lostallshelfcontrol: Get it girl. If I had four men who looked like that, I might wear less .
This dress was absolutely fucking indecent.
Sponsored, of course, but the red dress barely skimmed the tops of my thighs. It was a cool and supple metal mesh that felt incredible and practically dripped off my body. But it was short, backless, blood red, and probably the least clothing I’d ever had on my body with plans where people could see me.
“This is way too short.”
“It’s fucking perfect,” Annika said, looking through the shoes LORE sent. “They’ll have to hold themselves back from ruining you.”
I stuck out my tongue at her. She was referencing what Beck had said to me a few days ago, which I’d made the mistake of telling her. “Remind me never to tell you shit again? And I’m more worried about a wardrobe malfunction than the ruining.” I would welcome the ruining. Bring on the ruining.
“You have underwear on, right?”
I rolled my eyes. “Yes.”
The dress was thankfully long enough to wear some. But a bra was out of the question with how much of my back was exposed. Pasties for the win.
Annika sighed as she handed me a pair of black heels that would, without question, murder my feet. “Nes, you’re hot as fuck. For once, enjoy it. If you have a wardrobe malfunction, then you do. You guys are public now. So go, have fun.”
I used her shoulder for balance to slip the first heel on. “What are you going to do?”
“I’m going to have some fun of my own.”
“Who is it?”
She drew pinched fingers across her lips like she was zipping them closed and threw away the key.
“Come on,” I begged. “If you’re meeting him here then he’s clearly in racing. Tell me.”
“I’ll tell you once I figure out if it’s anything more than just fun, okay?”
“Fine,” I muttered. “I’d keep it secret, you know.”
Her cheeks turned pink. “I know.”
I stared at her after I got the second heel on. We’d been friends for years , and I didn’t think I’d ever seen Annika blush. Or be shy. “You really like this guy, huh?”
“I might, yeah.”
“Then I hope it’s very fun.”
“Oh, it will be.” Her face was back to her normal bold self, complete with overdramatic orgasmic facial expressions.
“I’m leaving now.”
“Toodaloo.”
The door between our suites was unlocked, though this would be the last stop of the season where we had separate suites. Now that we were out in the open we could just stay together. I couldn’t fucking wait.
Nor could I wait for the race. It was the first time I’d been back in the Americ Union since I was signed, and I got to see my grandfather. But first? Date night.
Which was clubbing.
Not exactly a good environment to ask each other questions, but there was plenty to be learned by how someone danced. Or if they danced.
“Holy fuck.” Elias stared at me from where he stood, mouth open.
“It’s a little short.”
“It’s exactly the right length.” As soon as I was within reach, he tugged me closer, his fingers finding the naked skin of my back. His eyes went wide.
“I know,” I laughed. “There’s barely anything to it. I’ve been convincing myself not to change.”
“If you’re not comfortable, change,” he whispered. “But you’re gorgeous.”
“Thank you.”
“Besides, I think the clothes they sent for River match.” Steps sounded behind us. “See?”
River was head to toe crimson too. But different. A dress shirt made of sheer material with a pattern I couldn’t focus on because of him . Pants that looked nearly velvet, with another subtle pattern. And a jacket—longer than he normally wore—that at the moment only clung to his shoulders.
We did match.
He’d frozen the minute he spotted me. I grinned as I approached. “Like it?”
“I believe that would be an understatement,” he murmured. His hand skimmed over my neck and the gold chain I wore there. The necklace had a long tail that drifted down my spine, decorating me from the back as well. “Will you think less of me if I admit I’m tempted to lock you in the suite and skip the club?”
“No. Because I’m tempted to let you.”
River groaned. “I’m going to do my best not to destroy your hair and makeup.”
My hair was piled on top of my head in an artfully messy bun. It would be wrecked by the end of the night anyway, but it looked good right now. “Thank you.”
“Gray and Beck went to get the car,” Elias said. “So we’ll meet them downstairs.”
“Perfect.”
Beck swore when he saw me and glared at Gray through the open window. “I told you we should have used a driver.”
“It’s fine.” He smacked Gray’s arm, making my Alpha look over at me. Then I was being devoured by that gaze. Ruined by it. Annika had been right when she said that.
Gray cleared his throat. “Or I can admit when I’m wrong. Too late now. Get in the car, little one. The faster we get there, the faster I can see you closer.”
Beck pulled me against his side, buckling me in while also managing to touch me. Everywhere. All the guys other than River wore some combination of a dress shirt and slacks, with Gray’s sleeves rolled up exactly the way I liked them. I’d told him how much I enjoyed it, and now he did it in front of me knowing exactly what it would do.
Bastard.
“How far is this place?” Their combined scents in the car had that floaty, high sensation sinking through me.
“Not far at all.”
“Good.” I closed my eyes and leaned against the seat, just breathing them in. “Will this ever leave?”
“What, love?”
“Feeling high when you’re all mixed together. Not that I want it to go away.”
Elias laughed. “No idea.”
“I hope it never changes,” Beck murmured, kissing my cheek slowly. And he kept doing that… kissing down to my neck and shoulder. It made me shiver. It made everything tighten.
Swallowing my whimper, I forced my eyes open. “I’m going to need you to stop that.”
“Why?”
“No bra.”
He growled low across my skin. “What’s your favorite animal?”
The question short-circuited my brain. “What?”
“It’s date night. It’s a question that’ll distract all of us.”
“Red Panda.”
Elias snapped his fingers and pointed at me from across the car. “Those fuckers are cute. And we’re here.”
There weren’t photographers or press waiting. Just a line of people wanting to get in. A smile broke out. We were just people here. I wasn’t na?ve. There would be pictures once they figured out where we were, but not being hounded right away? Fuck yes.
None of them bothered with the line, and the bouncers waved us right in. Grayson didn’t stop moving until we were on a balcony with a table that overlooked the dance floor. Gently, he took my little clutch from me. “Go have fun.”
“You aren’t going to dance with me?”
He laughed. “You might have to get some drinks in me first.”
“Work on that,” River said. A minute later we were on the dance floor. His body with mine, hands roaming where my skin was exposed. How long had it been since I went dancing?
God, I couldn’t even remember.
Beck was a slower dancer, preferring to lock our hips together and move with the beat. Elias was pure joy. Moving between them was as easy as breathing, and with the scent cancellers in the air, all I could smell was them. There was nothing in the world strong enough to keep them from me.
Delicious, heady euphoria overtook me slowly. And I hoped Beck was right. I hoped it never went away.
I lost track of how much I danced and ignored the pain in my feet from the heels. Until I needed a drink more than I craved the music. Grayson already had water ready. The glass was gone in seconds. Right before I climbed onto his lap and straddled him.
Who gave a fuck if this dress was so short I was risking danger in this position? I wanted my Alpha.
Gray’s hands gripped my legs just below my ass, teasing where the skirt ended. “What are you doing, little one?”
“Making out with you.”
If he wasn’t going to dance, he was going to kiss me.
I didn’t have to tell him twice.
Our mouths collided. Melded. Came apart and moved back together like they were magnets that couldn’t be apart.
Fuck Gray could kiss. He took his time, drawing his tongue along mine before pulling me in. Taking control without forcing it. Guiding me deeper. Pressing my hips down where we were barely separated by his pants.
We never got enough of this . Just kissing for the sake of kissing. Tasting the other person and the sharpness of the alcohol he’d drunk with the sharp sweetness of limes.
“Have you drunk enough?” I asked between devouring him.
“For?”
“To dance with me.” My voice was husky from the need to yell over the music. “I want all of you.”
One corner of his mouth tilted up. “That’s really what you want?”
I nodded.
Gray pulled me against him one more time, the kiss making me question if it was actually what I wanted before he pulled away and left me breathless. “Then let’s go.”
“You will?”
“Whatever my Omega wants,” he said, lacing our fingers together. The others waited where I left them, and we fused onto the dance floor together, letting me dance with all of them. Until I could barely stand. It was perfect.
