A sniffling sound from the foot of the exam table caught their attention and they looked up to see Linc’s papa, tears running down his cheeks.

“Reese,” Jules whispered.

Luca looked at Linc, and his alpha gave him a small nod, they’d chosen the name Reese, for Linc’s dad. Who’d meant everything to his alpha.

“I know I never met him but I thought,” Luca paused, getting emotional, too, when he remembered him and Linc in bed and he told his alpha he would like to name the baby after his dad. And to see how much it meant to Jules too.

“I hope you don’t mind,” Luca whispered.

“I love it,” Jules’s hands rubbed his chest, over his heart, in a gesture Luca would bet was unintentional. “He would have loved it, loved you,” Jules said in a quiet voice. “Thank you.”

Linc squeezed his hands, and Luca knew it was because of his papa. Saying thank you. Luca squeezed right back.

“Look at us, crying like we’re the babies,” Jules laughed, lightening the mood. “This is a celebration. Oh, so many pretty dresses.”

Both he and Linc groaned, “Yup, their daughter would have a Kardashian-worthy closet before she could walk. But Luca knew neither of them would say anything to Jules.

Linc didn’t know this but during one of the times Luca had gone over for lunch with Jules, Linc’s papa had admitted that he knew Linc was lying when he said he’d been seeing someone. But Jules said, he also knew his son, so when he’d brought Luca home, that it meant something. Even if Lincoln may not have realized it yet.

“Come with us for a celebratory lunch, Papa,” Lincoln said.

“Oh, no, I couldn’t intru…” Luca cut Jules off before he could even finish.

“You’re family, you could never intrude. Please come,” Luca insisted.

“Thank you, Son,” Jules said.

“Awesome, I’m craving Italian,” Luca said. “Help me off this table, babe. I’m so round, if I try… well, we may have a turtle on its back moment.”

“You’re beautiful,” Lincoln said as he helped Luca clean the goop off and helped him off the table.

“I’m fat,” Luca complained halfheartedly. Because as big as he’d gotten, he still wasn’t huge. The doc had assured them their little girl was the perfect size now, and Luca was just one of those guys that carried well.

“Come on, let’s get both you fed,” Linc said, leading him to the door. But Luca didn’t miss the speculative look in his alphas eyes. The man was up to something. But lasagna first, then he would figure it out.

Even before Luca had said how important family was to his papa, Lincoln had been considering doing this. He just hoped it didn’t blow up in his face. Linc knew that it was pride stopping his omega from taking this step, and since Linc had promised he would do everything in his power to make Luca happy, he felt like he needed to take the steps for Luca.

Didn’t hurt that the other parties involved were on board. More than on board, they were overenthusiastic. Although the closer Lincoln got to his destination, the more anxious he felt. Fuck. Maybe this was one aspect of Luca’s life he should have left alone. The last months with Luca had been as close to perfect as he could imagine.

Granted Luca’s temper had shortened as his pregnancy progressed and they were getting to know each other while living together. But even with the usual new couple, relationship growing pains, he wouldn’t want to change a thing.

Except maybe his dad meeting Luca. But Linc knew that he would approve. Then again, his dad would approve of anyone his papa loved, and his papa loved Luca. And the feeling was mutual.

That was why when he’d dreamed up this harebrained scheme, he’d run it past his papa to make sure he wasn’t treading where he shouldn’t.

He looked over at Luca, who’d fallen asleep once they’d left the city to his papa’s house. God he loved him. Even with his mouth open and drool escaping, Linc thought, and couldn’t help laughing at himself.

Lincoln got a text on his phone and saw it was from his papa. Linc told him to send one when their guest arrived. And apparently they had. Well they were in it now. No going back.

Let it go well, let it go well,Linc pleaded to the Gods.

As he pulled up to the gate of his papa’s estate, Linc hoped this wasn’t one surprise too many as he drove through the gate. Linc put the car in park a little further back than he usually would and sat for a second.

They must have heard him come up the drive, or more likely had been looking out for him, because next thing Lincoln knew, three people exited the front door. Two of them he’d only ever seen in print or on the internet.
