“Yup, just like that,” Linc replied.

Luca didn’t believe him but he wouldn’t call him out on it either but that piece of paper separated Luca and his baby–their baby– from Frankie. Because the man had relinquished his rights.

Luca knew Frankie enough to know it wasn’t as easy as Linc made it out to be. And he fell even deeper in love with Lincoln if that was at all possible.

Linc rubbed on his belly, “Our baby. My baby.” And the pride and joy in Linc’s voice had Luca in tears.

“Your baby,” Luca whispered. A feeling of peace and contentment blanketing him. And until that moment he hadn’t even realized it was missing.

“Earth to Luca,” Lincoln tapped him on his nose.

“Sorry, sorry, I was lost in thought,” Luca replied.

Linc, who was standing very close to Luca, leaned down and whispered, “Naughty thoughts?”

Luca couldn’t contain his snort, he pushed Lincoln playfully. “Behave, your papa is here.”

“Don’t mind me,” Jules chimed in, the grin on his face making him look ten years younger. A huge difference from the first time they’d met. Even though Luca had thought he looked pretty damn good then.

But Dr. Kelly chimed in, “And you’re in public.” The dryness in his tone softened by the small smile on his face.

“Newlyweds,” the doc muttered.

“We’re not married,” they said in unison.

“I’m sorry, I just assumed,” the doc paused, “don’t mind me.”

“It’s okay, we’re not married, yet, doc,” Linc replied.

Luca met Linc’s eyes at that. They hadn’t really spoken about getting married and Luca got why, after Lincoln had told him about Asher.

Luca wished he could find Asher and tell him thank you. Thank him for fucking up with Lincoln. He hated to think of Linc hurting, but if the other omega hadn’t screwed up with Lincoln, then Luca would have missed out on the best thing that had ever happened to him.

Linc held his gaze, “Soon.”

“Ohhh,” Jules squealed, and it was a squeal, no other word for it.

Luca stared at Linc, his mouth open but no words coming out.

“Love you, baby, but you should close your mouth before you catch a fly,” Lincoln winked at him.

Luca did the only thing he could think of and stuck his tongue out.

“Well, lovebirds, was that a yes, or no, on the sex of your little one?” Dr. Kelly said, breaking the googley-eyes fest they seemed to be having.

They looked at each other and replied at the same time, “Yes.”

“Excellent,” Dr. Kelly said, then paused like one of those game show hosts did when they were going for dramatic effect, “Congratulations, gentlemen, you’re having a little girl.”

All three of them in the room gasped, a little girl. Their little girl.

“Reese,” Luca whispered.

Luca put both hands on his belly, mindful not to get the goopy ultrasound gel on them. “Your daddies can’t wait to meet you, baby girl.”

Linc’s hand covered his one side, and Luca looked up and saw the sheen of tears in his alpha’s eyes, even though the smile on his face was damn near blinding.

“A little girl,” Linc whispered. “A baby girl, with your perfect blue eye.”
