Story: Killian De Luca

Twenty-Four

Reign

It’s been quiet since Killian got inside the car and said, “Drive.”

He didn’t say a word or even looked at me. His face is covered in ashes and I see some bullet holes in his vest. His shirt is dirty and his hair is a mess.

I can’t help but want to fix him and make him look like the Killian that I’m used to, the one with the playful smirk and smile.

But his finger anxiously taps his thigh as he keeps his eyes on the window.

When the warehouse blew up in flames, I knew Killian somehow was the cause of it.

Seeing the warehouse in flames gave me Deja Vu from the time our warehouse in Bulgaria blew up in flames.

But Killian isn’t the type of person to do that. Not intentionally.

“Kill-”

“I don’t want to fucking hear it, Reign.” Killian says roughly, still not looking away from the window.

I know I fucked up.

I know I should have listened and just did as he said but then what was the point of going through all this if we didn’t have the bag?

This trip to France would have been pointless and papa would have been disappointed.

The rest of the drive to the hotel is spent in silence as we both look out the windows. I took off my vest because it was getting stuffy in the car but Killian still has his on, looking super roughed up.

When we get to the hotel, the driver parks the car. Killian gets out while the driver comes around to open the door for me.

I keep my eyes on Killian as I follow him slowly to the elevator. People in the lobby are looking at us like we’re insane but obviously Killian doesn’t care.

All eyes are on Killian and he doesn’t even care or shows that it affects him. Watching him walk past a crowd of people who are staring at him while he has a straight face and a powerful walk makes me intimidated.

I was always a little intimidated by Killian just because he has a lot of power, not because of his status or last name but because of the way he carries himself.

We get in the elevator and stand side by side.

After a few seconds of silence, I feel chills and goosebumps crawling up my chest because of the fact that I have to say something to him.

“So we-”

“I thought I said I didn’t want to fucking hear it?” Killian looks down at me. His jaw clenched and his eyebrows furrowed down making him look so royally pissed off. “Obviously you have some serious listening issues or else you would have heard me and followed directions during that mission, but you didn’t.”

I stay quiet for the rest of the elevator ride because I don’t want to make Killian even more pissed off then I already have.

I almost feel like a child getting scolded even though Killian and I are close to the same age.

The elevator bell rings and we get out and enter the hotel room.

Killian starts taking off his gear while walking towards the room.

I keep my eyes on him, waiting for his move. I know he probably wants to yell and lecture me like a child.

But I also know that he is out of sorts and unpredictable right now.

He probably wants to take a shower and not talk until he’s ready.

That’s fine.

We can talk things out when he’s done.

Everything will be fine.

Killian soon opens the bedroom door and walks out in brand new clothes and hair a little damp. He’s wearing a white dress shirt with the first few buttons unbuttoned and then black trousers.

“Where are you going?” I asked, standing up from the couch.

“I need a fucking drink and probably a smoke after that shit show today.” Killian says while fixing his cuffs.

“Killian, I’m sorry-”

“Reign, when I tell you to do something, you fucking do it. You don’t make excuses or get the fucking bag off the floor, you do as I ask.” Killian says while slowly walking closer to me until both of our toes are touching one another.

“I didn’t think-”

“That’s right. You didn’t fucking think because if you did then you would have known that you could have died! You think I want to see your body lifeless on the floor?” Killian yells, getting slowly in my face but I don’t move away from him. He’s right. I shouldn’t have compromised myself and I should have listened to him. “You could have fucked died, Reign. Then what? What would I say to your dad? Your mom? Kyra?”

“I just knew we needed the bag Killian. Coming to France would have been pointless if I didn’t pick it up.” I try to reason but Killian doesn’t care.

His jaw is still clenched tightly and his face is getting closer to mine as he gets more frustrated.

“That doesn’t matter, if you’re fucking dead. Don’t you get what I’m trying to tell you?”

“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean for you to get mad or to cause an issue. I just wanted to help.”

“Next time, do as I say. Understood?”

I roll my eyes and Killian’s jaw hardens and the look he gives me turns into something more furious but also dark.

“You aren’t the boss of me. You didn’t have to come on this mission and-”

Killian grabs me by the throat and pulls me towards him.

My heart starts racing and I swear the spot between my legs pulses as I remember that night with his gun.

“Say that again.” He demands.

I open my mouth, but before I can get a word out I feel Killian’s rough and demanding lips on mine.

I gasp into the kiss and just melt in his arms as he holds me against him while kissing me roughly. I press my hands on his chest and he laps lips with mine before thrusting his tongue in roughly.

Everything about him is so demanding and rough. He just takes and takes without any remorse, only thinking about himself.

Killian’s other hand trails onto my waist and pushes my body closer to his.

His body heat against me, making me feel all hot. I want to be closer to him.

Inside him.

I want to be able to be so inside him to the point where I can hold his heart in my hands.

It’s like his kisses awaken my soul and when he pulls away I feel so deprived and empty.

Who knew I would crave someone like Killian.

“Don’t ever doubt me and who’s in charge between the two of us. I’ll fucking ruin you Reign and you won’t even be able to do a thing about it.”

Killian then turns around without another word and leaves with the elevator.
