Story: Killian De Luca
Seventeen
Killian
I knew when Reign and I first met that I was going to be the villain in her story.
That’s currently the role I’m taking over now.
I’m the villain in Reign Pierce’s happy, happy story.
But it’s too perfect to not pass up.
I’ve known that from the moment Reign bothered me that day of the gala, we were written in the stars.
Us meeting under them and confessing things we’ve never told anyone; it was meant to be.
The day Reign and I were in the garden, it was my dad who called my that day. He reminded me of my mission, like he does almost every day and asked why I’m taking so long. I eventually got him off my back but then I started to think about Reign.
I can’t become attached to someone like her knowing what the outcome will be for both of us.
We can’t happen.
But then she looked up at me with those big blue eyes and I snapped.
Her eyes. God her fucking eyes. They kill me.
I was over what my dad said, and I suddenly just didn’t give a single shit anymore.
I tried hard to stay away from her and close myself off, but she makes me want her like she’s some fucking drug.
My walls are slowly crumbling. You wouldn’t notice it, but I notice it. In the way Reign smiles, my heart cracks a little or when she laughs or gives me that mischievous, teasing look, my heart feels like it just wants to fall.
I don’t know how I’m doing it so well, holding it up.
During dinner last night she kept trying to get my hand off her thigh, but I wouldn’t let her.
I like seeing her squirm at the table in front of her family. It made me want to take her to her room to see how far I could push her to ruin that perfect good girl image she puts up in front of everyone.
I can push that good girl side out of the way and see what I really want to see. Reign completely at my mercy, screaming and crying for me.
I missed breakfast today, which I’m sure Lia wasn’t happy about, but I couldn’t give two shits.
I wanted to sleep in and relax. I was supposed to meet with Reign for training but I’m just holding off a little longer until I decide how I’m going to play this whole thing with her.
Right now, I’m in the main house because there was no more coffee in the guest house, so I needed to drop by to get some.
When I do, I see the coffee maker all filled up.
Thank the fucking lord.
I start making the coffee until I hear footsteps enter the kitchen.
“We missed you at breakfast,” Kyra says, walking past me to get something from the fridge.
“It’s not good to lie.”
“Good thing I’m not lying because one of us at least missed you,” Kyra says, making me look at her.
She has a stupid smile on her face, and she is wiggling her brows at me.
Reign Pierce is going to perfectly ruin my ending.
“Then she’s stupid,” I mutter.
“You don’t mean that Killian.”
This lady is fucking crazy. I’m surprised she isn’t in a nursing home yet.
“You have no clue what I mean, Kyra,” I say while pouring my creamer.
“I know someone just like you.” I raise an eyebrow at Kyra. “My husband and almost every other made man is just like you. I see the way you sneak looks at my granddaughter. Malcom and Lia see it too. That’s why Malcolm is scared of you living in our home.”
“He doesn’t have to worry. I’m not touching her.”
Yet .
“That’s a lie. You know it and everyone else knows it. It’s almost like your guys’ story was already written for you.”
“Why do you think that?”
“Because Reign has changed since you showed up. I know my granddaughter and she’s never acted like this with a boy.”
“Changed how?”
Kyra leans against the counter. “Her cheeks are more red than usual, especially when she is deep in thought about something. She is always smiling or trying to hide behind her long hair whenever you're around. The looks you give each other from across the table show. And if nothing happened yet, then something will,” Kyra explains which makes me crack my knuckle with my finger. “I think you’re afraid of her because perhaps you feel something for her. You don’t want to feel something for anyone because it’s easier for you.” Kyra isn’t wrong but I’m not going to tell her that. I’m afraid that Reign will make me miss something when I already had a perfectly placed plan for everything. Reign wasn’t involved in my plan; she wasn’t even thought about. But all of a sudden, she pops into my head when I think of the end. “You can disagree all you want but I know the look on your face right now. You’re scared and Reign is happy. That’s usually how it works for boys and girls when they start liking or even loving each other. It’s a hurtful realization.”
I take a sip of my coffee.
“She’ll be disappointed.”
“No, she won’t. I know you won’t try to hurt her because I can already tell how much you care about her.”
Crazy fucking lady thinks she knows me.
She has no fucking clue.
“You’re crazy to think I’m going to fall or even allow myself to fall in love with her,” I say, trying to convince myself more than her.
Kyra pats my shoulder. “But you see Killian, I’m positive that it’s just beginning. And once it starts, there is no way you’ll be able to stop it.” She smiles at me before walking past me.
