“You have my condolences,” Sasha said, delicately.

I was sensing abutcoming.

“But if I did what you are asking, I’d be starting a war with the Aryans.”

“There won’t be any Aryans left to start a war with in two weeks’ time,” I assured.

His brows rose. “Is that why you left? Did Stefan refuse you your revenge?”

I picked a nonexistent piece of lint off my dress. “They wanted to get revenge for me. I left to remind them not to underestimate me.”

“God forbid anyone do that,” Sasha said. He too had made that mistake. I hoped he hadlearned from it. “If I agree to this deal, I won’t be pissing in Stefan’s Cheerios?” he asked.

I smiled, genuinely. “No, you won’t.”

He nodded. “Three million.”

I gave him a dry look and countered, “One million. They’re in prison. It’s not like you have to hunt them down or risk getting caught.”

“Two point five. My men on the inside will get time added to their sentences.”

“One point five. I did my research before I came here, Sasha. Your men won’t be seeing freedom in this lifetime even on good behavior.”

“Two million is as low as I’ll go,” Sasha said curtly.

On the inside I was smiling because I couldn’t pay him more than two million—the same two million that had been hidden under my bed that I'd made sure to grab before disappearing three months ago.

“Fine, but I want it done three days from now,” I said standing.

Sasha’s brows furrowed. “Why so specific?”

I smoothed down my dress. “You’ll have to wait and see.”

“And what do I say to Stefan when he comes questioning?”

“Tell him the truth,” I said. “The first million is being wired to your account as we speak.”

“Done,” Vincent said through my earpiece.

Sasha appeared surprised and I knew he was getting ready to ask me how I'd gotten his account information, but I cut him off. “I’ll transfer the second million after all eighteen of them are dead.”

“How will I contact you when it’s done?” he asked.

“I’ll know,” I said and walked toward the door.

“We’re coming out,” Dean said, and only Asher and I knew that he was talking to Vincent.

The power in the club went out, followed by the cameras shutting off on the TV one by one.

Sasha stared at his black TV screen before looking at me. “I guess that explains how you got in.”

I gave him a parting smile and left.

We returned to New York with enough time for me to change and get ready for my date with the don. Brenna helped me curl my shortened hair while I darkened my makeup.

“I was able to find you a dress in the city today. It’s dark gray. I couldn’t find a black one like you wanted,” she said.

“That’s alright. Thank you for doing that.” I hadn’t thought to grab anything fancy enough for a date before we'd left Quinn Manor.
