Standing behind me, he brought his lips to my ear. “I know what you’re doing. If you want to win, you better beg for my cock.” It was his ultimatum.

Grateful he couldn’t see, I grinned triumphantly. “Please, Jamie. I want your cock so bad.”

He pushed gently between my shoulder blades. “Lean forward and put your hands on the table.” I heard the clink of his belt and the distinct sound of his zipper coming undone. He shoved the skirt of my dress over my hips. “Feet apart,” he ordered. I widened my stance and sucked in a breath when I felt him align the head of his cock with my entrance. He drove into me slowly. My head fell forward, groaning loudly. It felt so good, him stretching me—filling me.

Once fully sheathed, he bumped my cervix, making me moan his name.

His fingers curled around my braid while his other hand grabbed my hip. He tugged lightly on my hair, forcing my head back. “You know what it does to me when you say my name like that.” His words came out coarseand rumbly. He pulled out of me only to shove back in slowly. “I want to be rough with you,” he growled, continuing his languid pace of in and out. It was driving me insane.

Seeking more, I rocked back against him, slamming down on his hard rod. He released my hair and held me firmly by my hips, preventing me from amping things up. “I won’t break. Stop holding back,” I snapped, beyond sexually frustrated.

He chuckled, then pulled out all the way and rammed back into me. My whole body quivered. He didn’t hold back after that. He pistoned his hips at a delicious speed. It had been so long and he had me so worked up that I was already feeling that addictive pressure. The more it built the more intense the pressure was and the louder I got. I knew he was close to meeting his release as well when his hands tightened on my hips and he grunted behind me. We came together and my screams filled the chamber. That happened to be the same moment the door opened.

My head whipped in that direction and my eyes locked with sapphire blues. Jamie and I seemed to tense up at the same time. Frozen in place, both panting, we stared at Louie.

His eyes roamed over us but mostly my bent-over body with what seemed like longing. Then he blinked and closed himself off with the clench of his jaw. He looked at Jamie. “A word, when you’re finished,” he said tightly and stepped out of the room, closing the door harshly behind him.

Jamie slid out of me and fixed my dress before working on fastening his pants. I didn’t move, staring down at the table, trapped in my thoughts. I couldn’t get Louie’s expression out of my head or how it tore me up on the inside. What the hell is wrong with me?

Jamie placed his hand on my back and rubbed in a soothing motion. “You okay?”

I forced a small smile before turning to face him. “Yes.”

His eyes narrowed slightly. I was positive I wasn’t revealing what I was truly thinking or feeling. After what seemed like forever, because I’d unintentionally been holding my breath, he gave me a small smile of his own and leaned down to kiss me.

CHAPTER 5

Jamie and I left the chamber and found Dean, Asher, and Finn waiting in the hall. All it took was one look and it was obvious they knew what Jamie and I had been up to. Asher did nothing to hide his shit-eating grin while Dean’s grumpy demeanor wavered. Finn still held the exterior of an asshole, but his eyes showed he was amused.

Jamie kissed my temple. “I’ll see you tonight,” he said and left to go find Louie.

I locked eyes with Finn. “I’m putting you in charge of the shipment we have coming in less than a week. It will be your responsibility to retrieve it and watch over it until the time comes to do the exchange with De Luca.”

Finn’s brows shot up. “Really? Why would—”

“I don’t care that you don’t like me,” I interrupted. “You say you’re loyal to this family. Stefan, Jamie—all thosemensitting in that meeting—don’t believe you. I, however, want to. So I’m giving you this opportunity to prove yourself. Don’t let your personal setbacks ruin it. Because if you do, you’d be no different than Samuel and look where he ended up.”

Finn’s jaw visibly clenched at the clear threat behind my words. When he eventually nodded, I knew I’d gotten through to him. “I’ll take care of it, but I can’t do it on my own. I’m going to need Gavin, if you decide to not kill him, but even that still won’t be enough. I need a team because youretiredmy last one.”

I arched a brow at him.

He quickly raised his hands in front of him. “Not saying they didn’t have it coming, but we still have the problem of being short handed. I’m going to need a show of power at the docks when I pick up the shipment. We have an arrangement with our couriers, but they can be shady fuckers. With Samuel gone and Dylan on house arrest, I wouldn’t put it past them to try and squeeze more money out of us. Then we got to guard the shit and I can’t watch it by myself twenty-four-seven.”

“Okay,” I said, pleased he was taking this seriously. “I suggest you talk to Gavin and have him get his ass here by the end of today to fucking grovel. As for a new team, talk to Louie. Where are you going to house it?”

“McLoughlin’s,” he answered and smiled when I let my curiosity show. I knew the pub was one of many fronts we had, but I didn’t think we actually hid it there. “It used to be a speakeasy during Prohibition. There’s a tunnel that runs from McLoughlin’s to a secret cellar underneath the building next door. Back in the day the family used to hide all the booze down there. Now, we hide drugs.”

I smiled, slightly impressed. “I want to be updated every step of the way.” He gave me a curt nod. “Louie should be somewhere around here.”

Finn went to leave but something that he’d said made me stop him. “Why did you say Dylan’s on house arrest?”

Finn eyed me as if searching for something. When he found whatever it was, he said, “You didn’t know?”

What the fuck?

I walked away. Dean and Asher rushed to catch up to me as I stormed through the house toward Stefan’s study. The door was closed, but I didn’t let that stop me. I shoved it open and walked in on Stefan and Brody standing close behind his desk. Brody appeared to be straightening Stefan’s tie. I pretended not to see Stefan’s hand dropping from the small of Brody’s back. I turned around to face my goons still standing in the hall. “I’ll be out in a bit,” I said and shut the door.

I turned to facemy parents. At this point, they had put some space between them. Stefan was pulling out his desk chair to take a seat while Brody went to scoop up what looked like a leather planner from where it was sitting on the other end of the desk. He was fighting not to smile and failing. He knew I already knew about his relationship with Stefan. I could see how this whole situation was amusing and I would've been fighting back my own smile at catching them if I weren't so pissed. “Why isDylan on house arrest?”
