Page 23 of Broken Beauty
I know Jace is secretly infatuated with Bridgette. It's obvious in the way he looks at her but obviously I am not going to say anything because it's not my place. I think if Bridgette knew that Jace secretly liked her, she would shy away and never speak to him again. When it comes to Jace, Bridgette is weird.
Usually she is very confident around men and knows how to fake it 'til she makes it but with Jace, something holds her back.
“We need to go. Ariella and I are planning on binging Vampire Diaries and then stuffing our faces with Canes.”
“Why the fuck would you go to Canes when there is Crowded Rooms down the street from your house? You would really drive three miles instead of less than one for fried chicken fingers and some buttered bread.”
Bridgette gasps and pushes Jace lightly. “It is not just buttered bread and you know that.” I laugh and shake my head at them as we continue walking our way down the hallway to where the exit is.
Bridgette and Jace continue arguing as I hear what jabs they are throwing at one another.
Jace says that Bridgette is plain and boring and then Bridgette throws a jab about how he is a fuck boy and will forever be alone while fat and ugly.
Jace smirks and his eyes sparkle as we walk through the exit.
“Oh my god,” Bridgette says, making me look away from Jace and at Bridgette's shocked expression.
Her jaw looks like it's about to break off and fall to the floor.
I look away from her and look outside. There are people surrounding my car and they are taking a bunch of pictures, cameras flashing and people snickering.
I run up to my car and push everyone out of my way.
The worksmackis spray painted on my car.
The visual for everyone to see in a bright red color.
Everyone's snickers fade into the background as moments from the other night pop into my head.
Ash smacking me and me loving it so much I was about to orgasm from that.
That motherfucker.
My blood boils as I read the word over and over.
He is teasing me.
The other night, after he came into my room I had to finish what he started. The jerk didn't even have the fucking nerve to show up to class the next day, which I'm glad because, to be honest, what was I going to do?
Go up to him and cry and beg him to finish me off?
But he really has the nerve to spray paint my car with the wordsmack?
The fucking nerve he has. He is crazy. He is actually crazy.
Even though no one knows what it means, or at least the deeper meaning to it, I still feel embarrassed and my cheeks are burning and covered in red probably.
I turn to Jace. “Where is Ash?”
Jace bites his bottom lip, holding back a laugh. “He's at the diner.”
“We're taking your car,” I demand before walking towards Jace's car.
“Why can't we take yours?” Jace asks and I just know he is trying his best not to laugh.
He is lucky that I am saving all of my energy for Ash.
I feel like ripping his head off or just slapping him until he begs me to stop.
