And to find out there is a whole series and world connected to those people?
So, fucking stupid.
So why am I choosing to buy a book that feels like lava is melting my brain?
Probably because I am just truly trying to torture myself. I like fucked up books and the way they make you feel things.
They make you so angry to the point where you just want to break everything in your room.
They make you sad to the point where you just want to stop the world so that you can just stop hurting.
But they also make you happy so that when the book ends, you feel a part of yourself just wither away with the characters to live with them.
So that's why I decided to torture myself with reading the second book because well, I like how those things make you feel.
Reading books makes me feel like I'm still there. I am still alive; my heart is still beating and I can still actually feel things.
The bell rings when I walk inside the bookstore and I don't know why but my eyes set on the most beautiful brown eyes I have ever seen. They look like just normal brown eyes but the way she looks at me with parted lips and such innocence, you almost assume it looks fake.
The door closes behind me and I force my eyes away from hers and walk away.
I can't be focusing on that.
But the way she looked at me with pure innocence I know that she is anything but.
I walk towards the Adult Fiction section. I look through the shelves of books. I see a lot of books by Jameson Hat. He is an author who got famous overnight. I was following him when he only had one thousand followers.
I'm trying to find his newest release which happens to be the book that is the sequel to the one that fucked with my head.
His books are all fucked up but I just can't seem to get enough.
I walk around the rows and rows of books that tower over me. I've never been to this bookstore before. I am spending the week with Jace before heading back to New York.
This was the closest book store I could find near his house and it's a nice area. The beach is ten minutes away and it makes me want to stay in LA longer but I know I have to go back to New York.
When I turn another corner, I end up in the literature section and to my surprise I see the girl with the beautiful brown eyes trying to reach for a book on the top shelf.
A girl like her doesn't seem to be into literature. She seems like a romance girl who reads smutty books.
I walk towards her and my chest presses against her back as I reach towards the top shelf to get the book she is trying to reach.
My stomach dips and I feel a swarm of butterflies in my stomach.
The girl flinches and turns around, staring at me wide eyed. Up close I can see her features more clearly. She has big doe eyes that look like pure innocence. Her lips are full and they part as she looks over my entire frame.
I don't look at her body because I am too focused on the beauty her face brings. She is absolutely perfect.
How?
I look at the book in my hands. “'Invisible Man.' You seem more like a 'Great Gatsby' kind of girl.”
She furrows her eyebrows. “Last time I read Great Gatsby was when I was a freshman. Safe to say that I wasn't interested.”
I can't stop my eyes from roaming down her body. She is fucking perfect all over.
How?
I look away from her as my cock starts to harden.
