“Miss what?”
“Jasper put in his two weeks’ notice yesterday.”
“Really? Why?”
“His brother’s band is going on tour, and they asked him to travel with them as their personal chef.”
“That sounds pretty cool, actually.”
“Yeah, I can’t blame him. He has a chance to travel while doing what he loves. It doesn’t get much better than that.” I placed his plate in front of him and sat beside him.
He took a bite. “He does make some great food. Wait!” He glared at me playfully. “Did you ask me to move in so I’ll cook for you now?”
“I seem to remember you saying I didn’t need a chef with you around,” I teased.
“I did say that, didn’t I?” He laughed and pressed a kiss to my lips. “Maybe I can be your privatenakedchef then.”
“I’m not going to say no to that.” I winked.

One WeekLater
“Is this everything?”I asked as we unloaded a few boxes from the back of Declan’s brand-new Kia Sportage parked in the loading zone in front of my building.
Declan had been bringing things to my condo over the past few days, and we hoped to have him fully moved in before the weekend was over.
“Yeah. Once I packed everything, I realized I didn’t have that much stuff.”
“Hey,” Morgan called out as she walked down the street toward us. “Whose car is this?”
I leaned over and kissed her cheek when she reached me since my hands were full. “It’s Declan’s.”
She looked at him. “When did you get a new car?”
“Yesterday. Been saving for a while and it was time.” He grinned. “Meet Betsy Junior.”
She rolled her eyes. “You named this one too.”
“You can’t have a car and not name it.”
“Sure, you can. It’s what mostnormalpeople do.”
“Yeah, but now I can call her BJ.” I couldn’t stop the chuckle that escaped at Declan’s nickname for his new car.
Also, Morgan had been making an effort with Declan since the incident at the coffee shop, and while she was no longer hostile toward him, they now tended to bicker with each other. At least that was preferable to her not wanting to be in the same room as him.
“You want to give us a hand? We can probably make it in one trip if you grab a couple of things.” I gave her a pleading smile.
Her eyes widened. “But I just got my nails done.”
Declan laughed. “It’s fine. I’ll come back down and take care of it.”
Thankfully, Ryan showed up then. “Hey, you guys want some help?”
“That would be great.” Declan handed off the box in his hand and grabbed the remaining items in his trunk.
