“Not yet, but Day just texted that they’re on their way.”
Day was also an agent and Rhett’s close friend who would be acting as his best man at the wedding. They had done their own thing tonight, but knowing how head over heels Fallon was, I knew he was happy they’d end the night together.
“Okay. Let’s grab a table while we wait,” Fallon suggested.
“I’m going to get another drink,” I announced. “Do you guys want anything?”
Fallon nodded. “I’ll take a Sam Adams.”
“I’ll have the same,” Tyler added.
“Got it.” I turned to Faye and Morgan. “How about you two?” I would have asked Marco and Luca, but they had disappeared somewhere, and I could only guess what they were up to.
Morgan was the first to answer. “We’ll go with you. We need to look at the cocktail menu before ordering.”
I shrugged, surprised how she didn’t roll her eyes and complain that I was talking to her. “Cool.”
The three of us sauntered over to the bar, and the bartender came over immediately.
“What can I get you tonight?” he asked.
“I’ll take a Stella and two Sam Adams. Also, whatever these two would like.” I gestured to Faye and Morgan.
It took a few seconds before they finally settled on a mojito for Faye and an appletini for Morgan.
A few minutes later, the bartender placed the five drinks in front of us and gave me the total. I pulled out my credit card and handed it over.
While he ran it through the card reader, I turned and looked out over the crowd, searching to see if anyone caught my interest. Unfortunately, none of them were as hot as the one guy I couldn’t have.
Fuck, Fallon was right. I needed to stop lusting after Sean Ashford, or I might stay single forever. Not that I was necessarily looking to date. But this infatuation with my boss seemed to be holding me back from approaching other guys.
“Excuse me, sir,” the bartender said, interrupting my inner musings, and I spun around. “Your card has been declined.”
I balked. “Are you sure?”
“Yes, I ran it twice to make sure.”
“Seriously, Declan.” Faye laughed as she reached inside her purse.
I’d be damned if I was going to let her pay, though. I opened my wallet, grabbed my last sixty dollars, and handed them over.
While that had been embarrassing, I would not let it ruin my night. I was there to have a good time with my friends, and that was exactly what I was going to do.

With one lastlook in the mirror, I straightened my tie before grabbing my suit jacket and heading for the lobby. Ryan, Morgan, and I were staying at a beachfront resort the Donnelleys had booked for the guests while on the Cape for Fallon and Rhett’s nuptials. Normally, I stayed with Patrick and Mary whenever I was in town, but with all the staff and wedding guests around, it was easier and more peaceful to stay at the hotel.
As I turned the corner, I saw my kids seated at the bar. Ryan had a bottle of beer in front of him while Morgan sipped an appletini.
“Looking good, Dad,” Morgan sang when she spotted me.
“I would hope so. You picked out my suit.” I smirked.
“You want something to drink before we go?” Ryan asked.
I shook my head. “I’m going to hold off until the reception. Patrick said he has a bottle of Macallan waiting for us.”
