“I guess I am.” He smiled.

“Then I’m not saying no.”

“Good. I have to go to court this afternoon, but I can pick you up at your place at seven.”

“I’ll be ready.” I beamed.

Sean took a seat at his desk, and I turned and left to go back to my cubicle. The rest of the afternoon seemed to drag on as I anticipated where we were going and what an actual date with him would be like.

When it was time to leave, I hadn’t seen Sean in several hours, and it only heightened my excitement.

“Leaving already?” Camille asked, as I gathered my things.

“Yep.”

“Another hot date?”

“You know it.” I winked.

She grabbed her handbag. “Well, mind if we walk to the garage together? I’m heading out too.”

“Of course not.”

Once in the elevator, I pushed the button for the ground floor.

“Where do you keep meeting these guys to date? An app?”

“Nope.” I shook my head. “This is the same guy as before.”

“Does that mean you have a boyfriend?”

I smiled as wide as I could because yeah, I did. “It just became official over Thanksgiving.”

The elevator dinged on the ground floor and the doors opened, letting us out.

“I’m so happy for you.”

“Thanks.” I couldn’t get rid of the grin on my face as I thought about Sean and his dark brown eyes.

“Are you bringing him to the office holiday party?”

“I … ah …” I stammered as I opened the door that led to the parking garage. “Maybe?”

He would be there, of course, but I wasn’t sure if he’d be there as my official date, or I suppose apublicdate.

“I would love to meet him.”

“We’re still new.”

“I get it, but the holiday party is fun. He’d probably enjoy it.” She lifted a shoulder.

“We’ll see.”

We walked toward our vehicles and mine was closest. “See you Monday.”

“Wait.” She blinked. “You drive an Escalade now?”

“Just a loner while I save up money to buy another car. Betsy died.”
