I stood beside him and could see both the downtown skyline and Boston Harbor. “Wow. This is amazing.”
We continued to look around and eventually reached the primary bedroom. It was spacious, yet felt intimate at the same time. Or maybe it was because the man I’d fantasized about the night before was standing next to me.
The primary bedroom had access to a balcony that overlooked the city, and I could picture myself sitting on it with a glass of whisky to unwind after a long day.
We moved to the en suite, and someone clearly designed it with relaxation in mind. The marble countertops, the sleek glass shower, and the deep soaking tub were all white, while there were small teal details throughout the space.
Declan stepped into the walk-in shower and flashed a grin over his shoulder at me. “This thing could easily fit two people.”
I felt a flush creep up my neck at his suggestive comment, and immediately, I remembered how his lips felt on mine. For a moment, I imagined what he would look like with hot water cascading over his naked body. I shook my head to rid it of the images I had no business imagining.
Rita walked in and asked, “So, what do you think? Was this closer to what you were looking for?”
“Yes, I think so.”
“That’s great. Just so you know, I don’t expect this place to stay on the market much longer. If you’re interested, you might not want to wait too long to put in an offer.”
“Can I let you know in the morning?”
She smiled. “Absolutely.”
We said our goodbyes, and then Declan and I began walking back to the office.
“Let me buy you dinner as a thank you for coming with me,” I offered.
“I’m not going to say no to that.”
“You want to grab a burger at The Backyard?” I asked, knowing the bar and grill was close by. Out of the handful of restaurants in the area, I thought it was best if we went somewhere casual.
“Burgers sound good to me.”
We walked inside the establishment, and the host greeted us immediately. “Welcome. Table for two?”
“Yes,” I answered.
“Do you want to sit at the bar, or would you like a table?”
I glanced at Declan and lifted an eyebrow. “Where do you want to sit?”
“Let’s have a table.”
“Okay, follow me.” The host grabbed a couple of menus and led us through a maze of tables before seating us at one in the corner. “Your server will be with you shortly.”
Declan and I sat across from each other and began looking over the menus before both of us decided on a barbecue bacon cheeseburger and fries.
After placing our order, Declan asked me, “So, what are you thinking about the condo?”
“I know I told Rita I need some time to think about it, but I really like it.”
He leaned forward and placed his clasped hands on the table. “It has great views, and it’s super close to work. Are you thinking about putting in an offer?”
I nodded and couldn’t stop the smile that spread across my face. “I think so. I could definitely see myself living there.”
“And that shower.” He smirked.
I chuckled. “Yeah, that shower.”
“I’m glad you found something.”
