A man had walked out of the shadows, looking around.

“Maybe,” I said.

We waited.

The man kept glancing everywhere, and he pulled out his phone a few times too. Almost an hour later, a motorcycle pulled over at the curb and the guy said something to the rider.

“Follow the motorcycle guy!” I said. “Make sure he doesn’t figure us out.”

I chewed on the inside of my cheek as we drove through narrow streets and alleys. If this was a trap, I didn’t know what I was going to do.

But Santino couldn’t always guess our every move, could he?

“There!” Rafael said.

The motorcycle guy pulled over in the driveway of a one-story house in what seemed like a calm and peaceful neighborhood. We drove right past it.

My heart thudded loudly in my chest.

Was Luca in there?

So close to me and yet so far away.

I pulled out my phone and hoped my team would be here as quickly as possible because I was more than ready for a fight.

Chapter 27

WE MOVED THROUGH THEdarkness as stealthily as possible, getting closer to Santino’s house with every step.

He might have eyes and ears everywhere, but this was my fucking territory, and there was no way I was going to let him try to control it.

He’d see that messing with a Cassaro had been a huge mistake.

Once we were close enough, I lifted my hand.

And then we stormed the house.
