Warmth spilled all over my body, my insides tingling.

Could he be any hotter?

His gaze met mine, and he smiled.

I quickly looked away and turned away from him and the bed.

I could pretend he wasn’t even there. I’d be like his guards.

Invisible.

But as I paced up and down on the other side of the room, I forgot why I’d even come here.

Ah, yes.

Santino’s girl.

What was the name that had been written on her account that Rafael had shown me?

Jessica.

Right.

I needed to think about what to do about Jessica. Even though I didn’t know if I could get to her just yet, it was a good idea to have a plan in place in case it turned out that I could do something about her.

Then we wouldn’t lose any time coming up with one. Besides, there’d probably still be plenty of details to work out, even with a plan.

“Can I help?” Luca asked.

I turned to him.

He was dressed now.

Such a shame.

But why was he asking? Probably because he wanted something.

“My enemy has a girlfriend,” I said. “And there’s a chance she doesn’t live with him. But she probably still lives in his territory, which is a problem. And he probably has someone watching her and keeping her safe for him.”

His brow furrowed. “You don’t know for sure?”

“Not yet. I’m just trying to come up with something so I can act quickly when I get all the info.”

Luca was quiet.

“If she doesn’t know who he really is, then maybe I can catch her when she’s out of his territory. But she’d need a reason to go somewhere, and I don’t know if she’ll have one. I don’t know if Santino’s men are following her either.”

“What about her family members? Find them, and you can get to her. If he’s watching her, he might not be watching them. If you can get one of them to cooperate and call her telling her there’s an emergency, she might come to you.”

I nodded. “Yeah, that could work. Unless he picked someone who doesn’t have any attachments like that, and once he gets bored of her, he might get rid of her.”

Luca briefly looked away. “What does she do for a living? Can she get invited to a job interview if she hates her job? Maybe for more money? Or get invited to some competition in her field? A business party?”

Well, it was definitely easier to brainstorm with Luca’s help. Maybe I didn’t even need to make big plans. I’d just ask him to help. I already had a lot on my mind anyway.

Luca stepped closer to me, and out of the corner of my eye, I could see the guards tensing.

“I’ll probably try some of that,” I said. “Depending on the situation. Thanks.”
