Story: Merciless Intents
He pulled back, that dark smile morphing into something more amusing. “Iamthe good one. I figured today would be a good day to learn some self-control. If you can resist me, someone who is actually nice to you and cares about you as a person, then you can resist either of those assfucks. So, you game? Or do you just want it to be a fun-filled day of blowing millions?”
“I’m unsure if I should be angry or relieved right now. Do you have any idea how long it’s been since I’ve gotten off? And do you have any idea how weird it is that I’m so comfortable talking to you like I would my best girlfriend?”
He quirked a brow. “Gotten offat all? Or by someone else’s efforts? And not really. I’m so used to Luna telling me all about her sexual encounters I don’t even think about it. It’s not weird to me.”
“Well, it’s weird to me. Still getting used to it. And masturbation seems to make it worse and is annoying. Though, I ordered a few battery-operated friends, and they should arrive within a day or two. Maybe those will make it more fun and satisfying. But no, I meant by someone else’s efforts.”
“Hmm. Well, I’d have to say Damian in the hallway since you haven’t told us anything else.” His eyes narrowed. “Unless you’ve been holding out on me.”
I laughed and shook my head. “Nope. I tell you both everything. Obviously. So, you should be nice to me because I’m sad and lonely and horny.” I grimaced. “But I also feel like being bad. Ugh! Why does this have to be so complicated? I feel like I’m using you.”
He shrugged. “SinceI’mthe one you feel like you’re using, andIdon’t feel that way, that’s all that matters, isn’t it? We have an unconventional friendship without many boundaries. It’s up to you. I promised you I’d be good, and I will. That being said…”
My heart felt like it skipped as he paused. “What?”
“I can’t seem to completely find my indifference to you anymore. I’ve crossed that line with Luna, and it was like a switch. I can turn it on and back off, but you’re different somehow. It’s… odd.”
A sensation that felt a lot like hope blossomed in my chest, bringing with it emotions I didn’t dare acknowledge.
“Are you saying… Do you… have feelings for me?” I asked.
His eyes wandered around the room as he inhaled deeply and casually released it, considering my words. He shook his head. “I couldn’t tell you. I don’t know. All Idoknow is—you’re different. I enjoy flirting with you. Even if I know I can’t have you. It’s a tease, but it’s one that doesn’t feel…bad.Does that make sense?”
Relief made my shoulders sag. “Yes, it does. That’s exactly how I feel about you, too, and that’s why I felt like I was using you. I’m still fighting with all this therapy stuff, and missing—yes, missing—those two dipshits, and all the other stuff. It’s just a lot. So, I haven’t changed my mind. I really do enjoy our friendship. At the same time, I can’t help that I like to flirt with you.” I shrugged. “Maybe even kiss you occasionally.”
“That was slick, how you just threw that last bit in there so casually.” He laughed. “We’ve only kissed once. Are you saying you’d like us to be able to flirt with each other—no matter how painful of a tease it may be—and kiss occasionally?”
I thought for a moment. “It wouldn’t hurt our friendship? Even if I continued to occasionally kiss Asher and Damian?”
Justin leaned forward and rested his forehead against mine. “What you do with someone else is none of my business. I trust you to be safe and not put me in danger. I’m not the jealous type when I know the whole story, and I know the whole story there. You’re my friend, not my girlfriend. You’re free to do as you please.”
For some reason, the “not my girlfriend” part of that bit into my chest a little, but I blew it off. He was right, but I still wanted him to care a little for some reason. I felt like the most confusing person in the world.
“In that case, then yes. Flirting and occasional kissing,” I said.
His eyes narrowed as he studied me, his forehead still resting on mine. “What kind of kissing? I need rules, or I don’t know what my boundaries are. Are we talking—” He pressed a small kiss to my lips before pulling away. “That? Or more?”
“Definitely more,” I said.
“Mmm,” he moaned. “In that case, tell me if I go too far.”
“Wait, wh—”
My question was cut off by Justin reaching down to grab under my ass, lifting me and splitting my legs around his waist before his lips crashed against mine. I moaned loudly as he walked me several feet away and slammed my back against the wall.
His tongue parted my lips, and a louder moan escaped me as heat completely seared through my body.Fuck, this man was incredible. This kiss wasnothinglike the one he’d given me at his house a few weeks ago. This was… This wassomuch better. He was right—he’d held back.
“You havenofucking idea what I’d love to do to you right now,” he said, his voice dark and husky as he kissed me again.
I tangled my fingers in his messy brown hair and tilted his head to the side before licking, kissing, and biting my way up his neck to his ear.
“After you kissed me at your house,” I started.
“Mmm. Mmhmm,” he moaned as I nibbled his earlobe.
“You stood, and I saw how badly you wanted me. I was lost in my need for you. I was so sad when you stopped me after I dropped to my knees. More than anything, right then I wanted you buried in my throat. I wanted to taste you so badly.”
Justin growled, pressing himself so tightly against me that his head slammed against the wall. “Fuck.” His breaths came hard and fast as he stilled against me. “Temperance, we need to leave before I take you to the floor.”
