Story: Merciless Intents
Asher fought to hold back a smile. Ofcourse, that asshole would find it amusing. Best friend, my ass.
“Personally, I found that funny as hell,” he said.
“Uh-huh,” I grunted out as we walked into the bathroom. I looked at the few random guys at the urinals. “Shake it off, zip it up, and get the fuck out.Now.”
I didn’t recognize two of the three of them, so they must have been freshmen. I never forgot a face.
Trent walked through the bathroom, kicking the full-size wooden stall doors open. “Anyone in here?” He kicked the last two open as the three other guys scurried out of the bathroom. “Nope. That’s everyone.”
I walked over to the marble counter and leaned against it, spreading my legs to relieve the pain. I doubled over and groaned as I waited for the pain to subside. It was enough that it wouldn’t be a quick recovery, but it wouldn’t last all day either. At least I’d be able to sit by the time I got to class.
“What a fucking bitch,” Everett popped off, hopping up on the counter next to me.
I shook my head. “I actually didn’t get the bitch vibe at all,” I grumbled.
“What?” he snapped. I looked over and saw the disgusted confusion on his face. “She justdecimatedyour nuts. How can you say that?”
Asher sighed and rolled his eyes as he leaned against a stall frame, crossing his arms over his chest and his legs at the ankles. “She felt threatened, you fuck. You’re telling me if someone came after you, and you defended yourself, you’dbe the dick for it?”
Everett didn’t answer. His annoyance was palpable. I don’t know why the fuckhewas so irritated.Iwas the one who got kneed in the dick.
“She’s feisty. She’s obviously capable of defending herself. That doesn’t make her a bitch.”
“Oh, shut it, Asher,” I snapped. “Your little girlfriend is my target, so you either need to get on board or just back the fuck off. I don’t care which, but don’t get in my way.”
He shook his head again as he looked off toward the wall. “Doesn’t look like I need to defend her at all. Seems she’s quite capable of teaching you a lesson all on her own.” I growled, and he rolled his eyes. “What-the-fuck-ever, man. She’s a good person. You don’t know what you’re doing.”
I shrugged, standing as more pain subsided. “Actually, I know exactly what I’m doing. Harper made a bet against me, and I’m going to win. Speaking of which, can one of you go get that little bitch? She was probably in the hallway watching the whole fucking thing. Track her ass down. I need to have a littlechatwith her.”
Trent and Michael laughed as they headed out of the bathroom. Asher followed loosely behind them.
“You’re going, too?” I asked.
He turned to face me, walking backwards as he outstretched his hands. “Just leaving the presence of the almighty king of Crestview.” His arms fell limply at his sides as he turned back around to leave the bathroom. “I don’t feel like listening to you plot the downfall of theonlygood person in this fucking school with one of the worst.”
I scoffed. “You used to be fun. You used to love this shit.”
“Usedto. Past tense. It’s not as fun when it’s not someone who deserves it. Bring me a mark who fucking deserves it—likeChad—and I’ll play. Until then, fuck you.”
He walked around the corner, and I sighed with irritation. It had only been a few days since Harper and I made the bet. I’d only met the girl a single time, and she was already coming between my best friend and me. While I hoped Asher would get on board, I also found myself not giving a damn. If he ditched a nearly decade-long friendship over some random ass girl, he was a moron.
That girl was way too good for his delinquent ass. She’d eat him alive and spit him out.
I nodded my head toward the door. “Out.”
My other two friends left, and I tested standing at full height. Most of the pain had subsided, though I still felt a little nauseated.
“Getoff, you neanderthal!” Harper’s shrill voice echoed into the bathroom just before I saw her thrust inside.
“Want us to head out?” Trent asked. I nodded, and he turned on his heel, giving Harper a wink and a shitty smile on the way out.
“What the fuck do you want, Damian?” she asked, arms immediately crossed over her chest as she took a defiant pose that might have intimidated one of her underlings.
But not me.
“What the fuck doIwant?” I gave her a predator’s smile as I pushed away from the counter, stalking slowly toward her for my physical benefit as well as my image. I wanted her to know she fucked up. “Oh, well, we can start withwhat the fuck was that?”
She shifted uncomfortably as I towered over her. “What?”
“Personally, I found that funny as hell,” he said.
