Story: Merciless Intents
“Rotten bitch,” I ground out.
I grabbed a pair of gloves out of my first aid kit and dug through it, looking for any items that were important. Anything else—including the expensive ass uniform—got trashed.
“Just because I want us to be sisters doesn’t mean I can’t get you back for this,” I said to myself as I silently contemplated ways to get Harper back.
I cleaned up the mess, washed my hands, changed my clothes, and grabbed my keys. It was time forSisand me to have a little chat.
I fired off a text to Luna quickly.

Me:
Hey! You mentioned coming over and spending the night tonight. I don’t know if you were serious, but if you were, I’m game. That sounds like fun. Justin can definitely come, too. Just gimme a bit. I have something I have to do first.
Luna:
Definitely serious! Text us when UR ready. We’re just gonna hang at my place until then.

Good. With that settled, now I could focus on the task at hand. I was done with the bullshit and the games. I had no idea what—if anything—would come from talking to Harper, but I had to try. It was all Icoulddo. It wasn’t like I could kill her.
Though the thought had certainly crossed my mind.
Unfortunately, that probably be frowned upon, so maybe I should just start with a little chat. Work my way up to first degree murder as a last resort.
With Harper and me on the same floor and only a few doors apart, it didn’t take long before I knocked on her door. She seemed happy when she first opened it until she realized it was me. Her eyes widened for a moment before they narrowed, her arms crossing over her chest.
“What the hell do you want?” she asked.
“You busy? We need to talk.” Even though she was a raging bitch to me, I didn’t want to cause her issues. I kept my voice low so no one in the rooms on either side of her could hear us talking.
She huffed an unamused laugh before speaking in a volume as low as mine. “I have nothing to discuss with you. Fuck off.”
Harper tried to slam the door in my face, but platform combat boots are both stylishandmade a great door stopper. She yanked the door back open, her scowl even worse now. If looks could kill, I’d have been set ablaze.
I lifted my keys. “I’d recommend we go for a drive.”
This time, she did laugh. Her head fell back before her eyes focused back on mine. “I wouldn’t go anywhere with you if this whole building was on fire.Fuck… off.”
I took a deep breath and blew it out through my nose. “You can either come with me right now, or I can come in there. Your choice. However, I have a feeling at least one of us is going to yell at some point, and I don’t think you want your little friends on either side of you knowing we talk occasionally. Those are your options. Pick one because the third option, you won’t like.”
Her lips pursed together as her brows furrowed. “You’re a real bitch, you know that?”
I fought the urge to roll my eyes ather—little Miss “I’m going to steal your clothes, so you have to walk through the whole school naked”—callingmea bitch.Right.
“Yup. I’m just the worst,” I said, my tone bored. “Here or a drive?”
Harper rolled her eyes and sighed, her hands falling by her sides as she gave up. “Go. Walk away. I’ll follow in five minutes. Drive over to the employee parking lot. There’s no way in hell I’m getting caught in that old jalopy of yours.”
I snorted in the back of my throat. “Oldjalopy? Oh, Harper.” Turning away, I stopped and said, “Five minutes. That’s it.”
I didn’t wait for a response before quickly making my way down to the Chevelle and moving it over to the employee parking. My phone buzzed, and I let the car idle in neutral while I read the text.
