“Hey, baby.”
I slid my arms around her waist and pulled her into a kiss. Nayelli stood there stifling her squeals of excitement. Dinah rounded the corner and leaned against the wall with a smile on her face.
“Well, well, well. Don’t you two look cozy,” she said.
Neha and I parted lips, but I still held her in my arms.
“Hey, Dinah,” I said, grinning.
“Hey, Kerrion. Where is my fat little friend?”
“With his grandma for the night.”
“If you ever need a babysitter, you can always bring him to me. I mean, we are practically family now.”
“You would be KJ’s auntie if Mommy and Daddy got married,” Nayelli said, matter-of-factly. She looked at us with sparkles in her eyes.
“You are determined to marry me off,” Neha said, pinching her cheek. “Say good night so you can go get ready for bed.
She came to me with her arms raised. I picked her up and hugged her to my chest.
“I love you, baby girl.”
“I love you too.”
She smothered my cheeks with kisses, like I often did hers, and it made me smile. When I placed her on her feet, she hugged and kissed her mother and aunt before heading upstairs. Dinah walked over to the door and grabbed her keys.
“I’m out,” she said.
Neha frowned. “Where you going?”
Dinah grinned. “To grab drinks with a friend.”
“Bitch, what friends do you have here?”
“It’s a new friend. Kerrion knows them very well.”
It was my turn to frown. “Who?”
“You’ll know when you know. Don’t wait up for me. Byeeee!”
She rushed out the door before either of us could say anything.
“Oh, I’m on her ass,” Neha mumbled, pulling her phone from her pocket.
I plucked it from her hands and shoved it into my back pocket.
“Nah. I need your attention.”
She smirked as she wrapped her arms around my neck. “What can I do for you?”
“Show me your room.”
“What’s in my room that you need to see, sir?”
“You.”
Her eyes widened, and she swallowed hard.
