“My heart is always on your side, our connection is rare to find that’s why mi nah go let you go.

.. I feel that I’m so blessed to be yours.

.. I’m yours,” I sing softly to Nickoi. He looks up from his phone, a grin lighting up his face as I snuggle behind him, my hands resting gently on his shoulders.

One thing mi know is that Nickoi a guh chill pon the balcony in a the morning.

“Good morning baby,” I whisper, massaging his shoulder with my soft hands.

I lean closer and place a kiss on his cheek then my hair falls on him and I move it away.

“I’m excited... especially bout this whole place. ”

“Okay,” he smirks.

“Since we reach so late mi never feel like it was the right time to call Mama so mi a go call them now,” I stand to my feet.

“Alright do yuh thing,” he rasp and I walk over to the end of the balcony. I have a big grin on my face, waiting for them to pick up the call.

“Mommy!” I say excitedly the moment she answers the phone.

“Hey baby!” She’s super happy. I am too!

“Mi did fi call you when we just reach enuh but it was a little late so mi just say in a the morning mi a call yuh instead,” I explain.

“Ohhh unuh reach late... cah mi a say how dem nuh call me yet and tell me dem reach,” Mommy adds. Oh so she know?

I laugh looking at Nickoi then back at her. “Yuh did know bout the surprise trip too?”

“Yessss!” she giggles as she flips the camera to Mama.

“Hey, baby girl! How’s Hawaii?” Mama beams, and I swing the camera around to show off the stunning view.

“It’s so pretty here... look, you can see the Diamond Head volcano and the sea is basically walking distance,” I stroll around with the camera.

“Woii a so close unuh deh to the Diamond Head?” Mommy gasp.

“Yes,” I beam my heart swelling with joy. “The hotel room nice so far but we nuh really try it out yet. I’ll make some clippings and send them to you guys,” I switch back to me. They’re both smiling from ear to ear.

“Just enjoy yourself yaw mi one gyal,” my mother says sitting down. I smile sweetly.

“Yuh angle the party though mommy, everything well sort out,” I had to give the lady har flowers!

“As long as you enjoy yourself,” her smile pretty. “A dat alone a my only concern.”

“My 22nd definitely was one for the books!” I drop my eyes to my feet, a blush painting my cheeks. From mommy’s surprises, to Nickoi’s gifts and the sex... mmm the sex.

“Mi know mon,” Mommy’s eyes searching behind me. A wah the lady a look fa?

I smile and shift the focus. “So what you making for breakfast Mama?” I question, then immediately remember the time difference.

“Mi neva’ inna the mood fi cook not a thing so mi make likkle ginger tea... yuh wukless pah a nyam dung a Milo, dem soon poison him. Yuh eat or drink nothing yet?” I laugh at that. She just a guh act like she neva’ just say dem aguh poison Henry?

I decide to answer her question. “No... we a go get sup’m soon,” I shift the camera to Mr. Make-Me-Moan-All- Night. “See Nickoi here,” I get closer to him. A smirk curls on his lips. “Take the phone.”

“Morningggg Nickoi!” they chirp.

“Good Morning, unuh gov?” he takes the phone, talks for a while, then hands it back to me.

“The view nice eeeh?” I say mesmerized by both views. The scenery, yes, but he’s my favorite. Even in his simple shorts, shirtless tattooed skin and Kappa slides. Imagine. Him not even dress up.

“No joke,” he agrees. Mi cheeks dem a hurt mi to how mi a skin off mi thirty two! I can’t help it. I’m in Honolulu babyyy!

“Wah you always wan’ try out?” his dark brown eyes are set on me.

“I wanna go hiking at the Koko Crater Trail, the Boots and Kimo’s, definitely wah go a the Lanikai beach and try their shaved ice,” I say excitedly. Jesus di way mi dream bout this place mi still cyaa believe mi actually deh here.

“Jah Jah,” Nickoi starts. “Only two days we a spend enuh b.”

“But can we do it still?” I soften my voice.

“Yah. Mi o’ make it work,” his voice brimming with confidence “So you wah go a the beach today and then hiking tomorrow?” I bob my head slowly, thoughts of us last night flashes in my head.

“Ah mi guh check dem out.”

“Yeah,” my voice comes out seductive.

Thankfully, he didn’t realize. I’m excited. Tooooo excited! “I’m gonna have to call Mrs. Adams and let her know that I’m not gonna make it to school Monday,” I add, my thoughts drifting back to reality.

“Easy thing that mon,” he retorts. “Just get yourself ready. Mi aguh mek Gutta know the pree and get some breakfast before wi go a the beach.” Gutta.

That lands me back to lastnight. Mi cyaa’ believe dem reallyyyyyy do dat! Tappi’ noise cause yuh know yuh like it!

A smile tugs at my lips. I take a shower and clad my sexy nude body in a Chanel swim suit.

I dunno. It’s cute but I’m not feeling it for Hawaii.

Maybe because I really wanted to adapt their culture for a day or two.

Ya feel me? Yes Ma’am. I told Nickoi that I wanted to wear something that suits the culture and he decided to bring me to the shopping mall, not too far away from where we’re staying.

“Mi nuh know wah do unuh enuh,” Gutta laughs because Anna agrees with me. Girl power.

We walk through the International Market place. “Unuh nuh have no style a that with unuh,” she rolls her eyes at Gutta playfully.

“If we deh yer wi fi ina sup’m weh a give off the culture yuh know,” I step into the store.

“Like unuh a Moana,” Nickoi quips, and we all burst into laughter.

“Murdaaa!” Anna laughs out, Gutta dying from laughter behind her. Nickoi on the other hand has a straight face, as if he didn’t just give us a joke. Like he didn’t just say Moana. Him a watch cartoon?

“Bredda seh Moana,” Gutta continues to laugh. Never really know Nickoi so funny enuh.

My gaze lands on a coconut bikini top adorned with a frilly bottom, radiating a delightful Hawaiian vibe. Zara, no.

“Jai,” Anna points at it, looking up at Gutta. I take a deep breath. The whole a dem traumatize me... acting like last night nevaaaaa’ happ’m. Doh lef out yuhself!

“A that Prezi a call Moana,” she laughs and we join her. Once inside, I’m stuck in my usual indecisive daze until—BAM!—my eyes lock onto a stunning blue swimsuit. Perfection!

“That cute eeeh?” I come to a halt.

“You like this one?” The lady inches closer, her smile warm.

“Yes,” I respond, beaming as Nickoi retrieves his card to pay for the swimwear. She places it in a bag, her smile brightening the room.

“Thanks for shopping, beautiful.”

“Thank you,” I return her smile, then turn toward the exit. I assume Anna has already got a bikini, as she waits at the door while Gutta clutches a bag. As he should!

“Yuh feel it a give off Moana now?” Nickoi teases as he looks down at me.

“Yes,” I giggle.

Back in our room, I’m busy fixing my new wig while Nickoi’s in the bathroom. When he comes out, I’m still not ready—not even halfway! I crave a new look, so I’m swapping in a shorter wig with Anna, who’s already rocking her orange swimwear and white cover-up.

“Still nuh done?” Nickoi asks, and Anna assures him she’s almost there.

I smile, checking him out and he bites his lip looking back at me. He’s in a blue Louis Vuitton beach shorts, white tees and Kappa slides with socks.

“Yuh just a go pon the beach ina style enuh,” I admire him.

When we’re finally ready, I step out with them. Anna and I spent about fifteen minutes posing for photos outside of Boots and Kimo’s. Nickoi and Gutta places our orders. I’ve longed to try their banana nut pancakes, so I ask Nickoi to order that for me. Anna requests French toast.

After capturing our fun moments, we join Nickoi and Gutta to dig into our breakfast. “Ready fi go Lanikai beach now, mi G?” Nickoi asks, and I nod. The others finish up and we’re all set to walk out together.

“Mi a tell unuh say a one of the best beach anybody could a’ ever go,” I say as if I’ve been there before.

“Eeee?” Nickoi’s eyes are piercing through me.

“I’ve seen enough pictures,” I smirk.

“Jai, stop nuh,” Anna’s voice floats from behind me, and I can’t help but chuckle at Gutta’s amused expression.

“Wah Gutta real name?” I ask Nickoi as we walk through the aisle leading us to the beach.

“Jaden,” he retorts, my brows arch in surprise.

“Oh... suh why yuh always nuh wah tell me your middle name?” I seize the opportunity to pry again. He plays it off and ignores me. I sigh to myself. I feel like it has something to do with his father.

When we’re on the beach I take more pictures with Anna and realize that Nickoi is just lounging on a beach chair. “Hot bwoy vibe yuh deh pon?” I want to go in the water with him like Gutta and Anna are.

“Sup’m like that,” he smiles and I give him my puppy dog eyes.

“Come nuh,” I whine and he gets up.

The moment he stands, he hoists me onto his back, and Gutta turns with a grin, capturing the moment with Anna’s camera. “Soon send dem to unuh,” his eyes on the picture. Anna stays by his side.

“Nice cleannnn couple!” she blurts out. I slide off Nickoi’s back once the picture is snapped, holding his hand as we wade through the gentle waves.

He removes his socks and slides before deciding to join me in the water. “You can swim?” I nod confidently.

“Of course yuh brite eeh?” I laugh and he glances at Gutta.

“Yuh have the underwater camera?” he asks, mischief dancing in his eyes. It sends a wave of nerves through me. Underwater? Wah Nickoi up to?

“I said I can swim, mi never tell yuh mi a pro!” I backtrack.

“Hear the coward.” Gutta throws the camera to him.

“Seh yuh can swim so come nuh man,” he chuckles, and I pout in a playful defiance. Leaning in, he whispers, “Naffi’ worry, yuh kno’ fi hold yuh breath when mi dung inna yuh throa—” I swiftly cover his mouth, and laughter bubbles between us.

He splashes me a few times, and soon, I’m firing back with my water attack. He finds a way to grip me, guiding us into deeper waters—deep, at least, for a rookie like me.

He clasps my hand, guiding us deeper, and a wave of panic washes over me. This isn’t what I want. I shake my head in protest. He catches my gaze, his eyes steady. “Baby, yuh think fi a second you could get hurt with me alive and deh yasso?” he asks, and a shy smile blooms on my lips.

“Laad Gad anuh that,” I laugh, splashing water to refresh my face.

He gazes into my eyes, sending delightful shivers racing down my spine. I can feel his love enveloping me, not a hint of desire, just pure, unadulterated affection.. Awww.

“Yuh trust me?” his eyes lock onto mine.

“I do,” I reply, and he takes my hand once more.

“Just hold your breath and go down with me and I’ll protect you,” he promises, making me blush as I slowly follow him down.

He captures the underwater magic on video before turning the camera toward us. He surfaces shortly after, allowing us to catch our breath. I can’t believe I’m about to say this, but I liked it.

“Wah yuh think bout that?”

“It was beautiful,” I smile back.

“Like you,” he flirts, making my cheeks heat up. He pulls us down again, wrapping one arm around me while holding the camera with the other, bringing us back up for air.

“Zara a just one thing mi a’ ask yuh fi do fi me,” his voice low and intense, his dark brown eyes pulling me in like a deep ocean. I feel as if I could easily drown in them. I’ll do anything for this man.

“Wah that?” I ask and he gives Gutta the camera, speaking indistinctly. I glance away, giving him space. He turns back to me, an unfamiliar glint in his eyes.

“Mi just wah yuh trust me and hold your breath... yuh can do that fi me?” his tone makes my heart race in a way that almost frightens me.

“Words Zara,” he insists.

“Yes, I’ll do that,” I respond, my voice trembling slightly.

“Thanks,” he murmurs, and I grip his hand tightly as we plunge beneath the surface.

I hold my breath like he told me to, water folding around us, the world above fading away.

His arms find my waist, pulling me in, pressing our bodies together.

My hands slide up, locking behind his neck.

Then— his lips brush mine. A teasing touch.

My heart slams against my ribs. The next kiss is deeper, his mouth parting, tongue slipping in slow, tasting, claiming.

Ouuu. I whimper against him, gripping tighter, sinking into the warmth of his mouth despite the cold pressing in.

His tongue strokes against mine, slow and unhurried, like he’s savoring every second, like he knows we only have so long.

Fifteen seconds. My lungs start to burn.

Twenty. He groans against my lips, his fingers pressing into my hips, like he doesn’t wanna let go.

Twenty-five. I pull back slightly, my chest tight, but he steals one last kiss, open-mouthed, hungry, before dragging us both up for air.

We break the surface, gasping, staring at each other, breathless.

He smirks, licking his lips like he can still taste me.

We’ve done a lot of things... that are very romantic but none of them can compare to the few seconds that we just shared.

“Yuh get it?” he asks Gutta, who nods in agreement.

“And it cleannn. Believe,” he chuckles, glancing at the footage. He’s taken aback by it, but mask it. What is Gutta thinking?

Anna beams, and Nickoi turns back to me, his hand curling around my neck, thumb stroking slow.

His lips brush mine again—barely—before he pulls back, eyes dark, locked on me.

Then, just tongue. No lips. Just the wet, slow slide of his tongue against mine, teasing, tasting, claiming.

My breath catches, knees weak. His fingers tighten against my skin, holding me still as he takes his time.

A soft moan slips out before I can stop it. “No sah... ” Anna blushes. “Prezi aguh breed Zara enuh.”

I pull back, back to my shy self and playfully roll my eyes, still thinking about the underwater kiss and how it makes me feel.

“That was so—” I was saying and he interrupts me.

“Zara mi been a try fi say this from wah day and it was so hard cah mi a pree say people a guh find mi weakness yuh zi mi and mek you become a target and mi know yuh nuh ready fi my world all when yuh say yuh ready. But mi think seh a time mi make yuh know say the feeling weh yuh have reciprocated, anuh no one sided thing... mi did and still have a lot of reasons fi neva’ wah 3 say it in public but mi just wah yuh know say mi love yuh,” Nickoi confesses.

My heart skips a beat, then races, my chest tightening as everything around us fades out. It’s just him, just his voice, and the weight of those three words—mi love yuh. Damn. .
