“Nobody nah mess up yuh life. I made my choice and you a be petty. Cas look how much man out deh weh would a dead fi have you but you decide fi tek up things in a your hand and pull dah idiot stunt deh,” I say.

“Solo estaba enojada,” she says with pleading eyes. (I was just mad.)

“And what if yuh did shoot her?”

And mek she dead like how har wasteman father mek man kill Gina.

I tighten my hands around the steering wheel. “Just lock chat man,” I hiss with my jaw clenched.

Maybe if she did make sup’m like that happ’n to Zara she would a be the first woman mi kill. Nuh 3 wah pree so dawk right now enuh especially in a this situation.

“I don’t know why you so wrapped around her... I can’t believe you,” she shakes her head. I ignore her.

“Nickoi..” she reaches over and hold my Ferragamo belt buckle. I yank her hand away.

“Stop this nuh,” her Mexican accent thick as she attempts patois.

“We lived together and our relationship was moving on to the next level and you allow her to end our relations—”

“Mi did tell yuh seh mi nuh do relationship so how you a seh that? mi just cut eh link... no seh relationship,” I’m annoyed. Well wah throw har outta mi car.

“How you doing it with her?” She asks.

“She didn’t even know you,” I ignore her question. What me and Zara have going on a we alone suppose to understand it. Plus mi nah explain miself to nobody.

If anuh Zara, my subconscious adds.

I open the pocket of the car and hand her a blindfold. She looks at it and I give her a cold stare. Talia gulps and slowly puts it on.

“Just mek sure seh yuh have it on,” I turn in Rick’s direction. When I get there I drop her off and Rick holds her.

“Do eh right bro. Know mi cya bring back Gina but one thing mi know a if anybody violate and hurt nobody fi wi a jungle justice fi dem and wi nah stop til dem feel back eh pain weh wi feel,” I hug him and push him playfully and he chuckles.

“Arite bro,” he smiles.

“Soon fawud,” I jump in the Mark X.

I didn’t include Rick in the plan because that would a be evil. Him a grieve him nuh in the right state fi all a this. I honk my horn and head back to Spanish town to pick up Zara and her grandma.

I check my time 9:18 AM.

ZARA

I get up quickly when a black Mark X stops at our gate. I stare for a while and I notice that he isn’t coming out.

“Mama he’s here,” I say and she walks out.

“Later mommy I’ll call.” I hug her before I pull the car door and get in. Nickoi smiles at us.

“Yuh look good Mami,” he compliments before he looks at Mama.

His aroma is so virile, strong and tantalizing. “Weh Mama a seh?” he smiles with his eyes set on her getting in the back. He’s dressed in full black— black tees, neatly fitted jeans and suede Bank Robber. He looks so... Damn.

“Mi excited bad,” she says and I smile putting on my seatbelt when Nickoi gives me the ‘put on the seatbelt’ look that he gives me everytime. Mama says a word of prayer for a minute.

Amen, my subconscious says.

“Amen,” we say in unison.

He drives off and I watch the scenery outside, making a few snaps for Instagram when we are in Ochi. We get there safely and Nickoi holds my hand and Mama’s hand as he walks in the middle.

No mon what a passionate gun man.

I laugh out. Mi couldn’t hold that. “A wah?” Nickoi asks and I shrug.

“Nothing,” I say and he walks us over to a big man. A good thing him nuh overthink like me weh would a press him fi know a wah.

Nickoi daps up the man before they put bands on our wrist. Mama reads the sign. “It’s time to play safe.” Mama ever find something fi read.

“Come on,” Nickoi says holding our hands again and we walk in.

On my way in I took a few videos of the scenery.

I start snapping myself and Nick comes in the video wrapping his arm around my shoulder before he pecks my lips. Awww. I turn the camera on Mama and she’s busy looking at some plants by the time we are ready for the sky explorer I start feeling nervous.

“God almighty,” Mama exclaims and we all sit. Mama nervous too.

The worker laughs. “It nuh bad mon, just enjoy yuhself!” He smiles.

Nick is sitting at the edge while Mama and I are sitting beside each other. We start going higher. I scream a little. “Mi wah go back down,” I cry.

“That too late,” Nickoi chuckles. He’s in his phone. Wah him a do?

Enjoy yuh self.

“It nuh bad fi true the scene is nice... all the sea look so pretty, my God,” Mama says. I start panicking. Damn coward.

“Just stop look down b,” he says and I listen.

As I focus more on the aesthetics of nature and not on the dreadful fact that we’re 700 ft above the ground I start feeling better. Just relax. I snap a few times, holding my phone firmly before I start relaxing. It stops a few times until we finally reach the other side.

I get off and Mama laughs and turns to a worker. “So a it a carry wi back?” she asks and the guy nods.

“Yes,” he chuckles.

“Laad Jee,” Mama says and I laugh.

I look around and Nickoi is glued to his phone.

“Come Zara, what are we trying next?” Mama ask, grabbing my attention. Mama is much more adventurous than I am. Yuh feel seh Mama boring?

I touch his arm. “Nickoi,” I say and he looks up. “Wah wi a go on next?” I ask, pushing my annoyance with him behind me.

“Zip line,” he says and I smile.

“Alright mi ready like Freddy fi deh one yah.”

Gutta

As soon as Juaqína sends me the message I signal the gang. “Time now enuh,” I tell them. We ensure our guns are ready and loaded before we pull up our mask.

“Buss a bwoy head yah now,” I chuckle, opening the door of the car and they walk out.

“If a nutt’n yuh know wah fi do enuh,” I say to the driver and he nods. As soon as I reach the gate I pull the trigger and the security falls. I reach up to him and fire two more times. Just in case.

“R.I.P,” I smile before I push the door with force.

Everyone starts screaming when they hear the commotion and the guns.

Four a the man them run in and turn on the automatics and just like rain, the man dem a fall.

They didn’t even get a chance to pull out their guns.

The club is loaded and people are scattering everywhere.

Dem remind me a some mad ants. We know who fi kill though.

I spot one of them aim ing the gun at me and I duck, putting two shots in his head.

He falls to the ground. “Dead bwoy,” I laugh.

I step over two dead bodies and spot one of them moving his hand on the ground. The moment I see his movements I shoot him four more times before I lean at the edge of the wall.

Juaqína calls me and I pick up, looking around. “Wah gwaan?” I ask.

“Mi tie him up,” she says.

Good. “Ah... soon reach up deh,” I say before I start shooting at a man that was coming from the back. “Think yuh slick fassy?” I aim at his head but he falls before I could press the trigger and I look to the side.

“Yuh did a tek too long,” Scar says, running up the stairs.

I chuckle to myself and run behind him, raising the gun a little higher. I stay on the left incase anybody runs out and try surprise wi. I spot a stout girl coming with a gun shooting after us and I duck, shooting her in her knees and I walk over to her and shoot her in her head.

Kill or be killed.

I step over her and I see a group of them approaching us with some heavy guns.

I hold up my hand, signalling the ones behind me to stay back.

I switch my gun and I lay flat on the ground getting the perfect angle and I start spraying them with shots in their knees and they start falling.

I raise my hand calling the others. They run over to them and start finishing them.

“Nice,” I smile.

“Mek wi go fi the boss,” Keno says.

“Wi nuh fi kill him enuh,” I tell him. “The don nuh wah wi kill him.” I project my voice so that the others can hear.

“Alright,” a few of them say while the others just nod.

“Wi haffi move fast before police come enuh,” Junior says before he pushes the door.

He moves back quickly when someone starts shooting at us. I move a little forward and I spot a tall black man. I hiss. The angle impossible fi mi shoot so mi a go play some mind game. I step a little further but not enough where he can shoot me.

“Yow if yuh nuh drop the gun, just a call mi a mek and Carlos dead enuh,” I tell him.

“How?” he asks.

“Possibly by wah copper shot in a him head depending on the gun weh the b a use. Him in a the room and yuh cya go in deh so eh better if yuh just drop eh gun,” I say.

He’s still aiming and suddenly I see him fall, startling me. I spot Juaqína and she blows on the gun before she puts it down. She starts pulling Carlos.

“Yow tek him,” I instruct and two of the men grab him and we run out while Keno and Scar hold up their guns. Cyaa drop wi guard.

We make it outside and quickly get in the pro box and hear sirens coming. “Shit! Drive Drive!” I yell and the car speeds off.

The police starts shooting at us and Juaqína takes out her gun before sticking her head out and start firing. Bad gyal. She hits their tires before shooting the police around the steering and sits down. Not even a trace of smile nuh deh pon har face. She grimey enuh mon.

The police car starts spinning before it hits a wall. “Yah man!” I laugh as we get away from the scene.

I call the Don and he picks up on the first ring. “Wah gwaan?” The G asks and I smirk.

“Everything dead and we have eh boy Carlos alive,” I tell him and he lets out a sinister chuckle.

“Then nuh that mi wah hear mon! Mi soon link unuh tho mi still deh pon the road,” he says lowly. Him probably around him woman.

I hang up after a while and smile. “That did smooth, one family enuh,” I say .
