When I arrive at the underground, I park my car at the side before I put on a gloves. Gutta comes out, joining me. “Wah yuh deh pon mi killa?” he asks.
“Mi have a man in a the trunk,” I say casually. He gets closer.
“Dead?” he asks. I shake my head, pulling the trunk and Gutta walks over to the trunk, looking at him. He doesn’t say anything.
“Deh bwoy yah a work fi Carlos son and Zara ex,” I tell Gutta.
“Carlos have a son?” he’s surprised.
“Yah,” I retort. Mi nah 3 meds them bwoy deh right now.
“Yuh know wah that mean Don,” Gutta smirks.
“Yah... him o’ look fi him father and him sister so that go kick off a war,” I say nonchalantly. Dis doh even faze me because mi go through my fair share a war already. Easy 1 few 3 that.
“Eeeeh, so a who a Zara ex?” Gutta’s eyes narrowing.
I shrug. “Malik them seh him name, mi nuh know a who yet.”
“Wi soon find the clown mon,” he says before he looks back at the man in the trunk. He’s mumbling while trying to free his hand from the handcuff.
“Wah you a seh bwoy?” Gutta growls at him. “Don a how you find him?” His eyes finds me when he ask that.
“Mi a drop off Zara a the supermarket and spot the bwoy car a follow mi. Him turn off so mi just circle back the street,” I tell him. Gutta looks at him with a sinister smile.
“Hey bwoy yuh really falla eh Don? Yuh nuh in a yuh right mind mon,” Gutta jeers. The man looks away.
I laugh briefly before my mind runs on the real business. Carlos. “Tek him out,” I walk away.
“Kill him?” Gutta smirks. I hear the man groaning.
“Mi h-have a dau—” he starts and Gutta interrupts him.
“Shut up bwoy a the Don mi a chat to,” Gutta slaps him across his head.
I shake my head. “Nuh kill him... wi a guh need him fi find eh bwoy dem and cover him face.” I instruct. Mi still nuh tek off mi ski mask.
Gutta nods. “Ah.”
As soon as I reach inside I take off my mask and hear Talia’s high pitched voice. I quickly walk to the back room that they’re in and Keno meets me. How him fi lef them alone!?
“How yuh fi lef them alone?” My tone deadly. “Eeeh... yah idiot?”
“A tru yuh mother round deh,” he tells me. My jaw clenched tight as I cock my brow. Wah? Weh mommy a do yasso?
I breathe heavily and push the door with force. “Suppose yuh did make mi son dead?!” She hits Carlos.
I sigh before I look at Keno. “Yuh tell har bout it?” I ask him.
“Yeah. She come check up pan the business then she go see him and ask me bout it so mi never have no choice,” he explains. Jah know.
“She did all suspect seh a him set up the hit from she see seh him tie up in here,” he adds. I hiss. Mi neva’ wah mi madda in a this mess. A nuh like she innocent but this shit deep.
“Mamz!” I call and she hits Carlos again. She glares at me.
“Bwoy him nearly kill you off and yuh nuh wah mi fi mash him up?” She hits him again. She could a all stuff har shoes dung him throat fi all I care.
“Mi just no wah yuh inna this,” I say and she hisses. She never listen to mi yow.
She grabs his collar. “Yuh see all yuh, dutty drankro–”

“Mommy!” I raise my voice and she stops just before meeting my glare.
“Alright Alright mi done Nickoi,” she rolls her eyes and Keno escorts her out. Leaving me with an angry Carlos who’s shooting eye daggers at me. Him feel mi care?
“Why you taking so long to kill me is it that you’re af—” He shouts and Talia interrupts him. I look at her.
“Dad–” Talia starts and I hold up my hand abruptly, stopping her.
Mi wah hear him. I look back at Carlos. “You a’ ask if mi fraid?” I take a seat in front of him. I just want to be in the right state of mind fi kill him and mi inna it right now.
“Yeah,” he answers, his voice harsh.
“Daddy he’s not gonna kill us,” Talia tries to convince herself. Mi need fi clear this up cause she been a say this. Who she think she be?
“Mi nah go be the one fi hurt yuh cause mi nuh believe in a dat but yuh a go watch mi kill yuh father,” I say bitterly and tears rolls off her cheeks.
“Why would you do that?” She sobs.
“Because ova foolishness yuh mek me and mi fren dem affi go look pon Gina and Jet with toe tag pon them in a morgue. They were both under 25. Dem nuh live no life yet and ova a breakup weh yuh could a just move on from yuh mek dem foolishness yah gwaan. Her tears are flowing, as she looks at me with pleading eyes. “I-I wasn’t thinking,” she cries.
“Eh? Talia, nutt’n you say nah change the situation. Dem done dead. The baby nav no mother and Jet mother lose her breadwinner.” The more I talk about this the more I feel adrenaline rushing through my veins.
“Nickoi... m-my condolences to your friends. I’m sorry, I am really sorry, j-just don’t hurt me this way. I love my fathe–” My anger flares again.
Weh she a seh? It betta if she shut up.
“Shut up yuh mouth Talia, a true yuh d’evu know how yuh mek mi wah box yuh dung,” I glare and get up.
It nuh mek no sense mi talk wid har cas she only a mek man temper boil. I walk out of the room to make a call, just in time to hear Carlos whispering something to Talia. I stop.
“I love you, mija. Your brother is looking for us and he is going to find us because I have my tracker on,” he startles me. Tracker?
“Okay,” I hear her say.
“I can’t wait to see that asshole’s face when my boy surprises him,” he chuckles dryly. Then he continues when his laughter dies down. “He won’t know that this is coming for him.”
Mi know now idiot bwoy. A knock him get knock. The war a come sooner than we think. “Keno, gwaan watch them,” I say and he nods.
I find Gutta at the back and he’s watching the man. “Bad man yuh fi man up enuh,” he laughs.
As soon as I approach them, he looks up at me giving me a knowing look. “Wah happ’m?”
“Like the war a come earlier than we think,” I say before I tell him what Carlos said and what we’re going to do.
“Yeah mon mi a mek every man get ready right a weh mi G,” Gutta says. Mi always can count on him.
“Yeah and we a go fool dem, mek dem gwaan feel high and mighty fi now,” I tell him and he chuckles before hitting my hand.
“Bad man yuh smart enuh,” Gutta says and I chuckle. Been a tell yuh.
“Mi a go check pon Zara and Juaqína so deal with that,” I say before I walk away. I take out my phone.
“Yow it look like we a go play a game again, like a part two fi wah gwaan a Constant Spring but this time with the boss himself by wi side,” I hear Gutta saying to the others.
“Bay dead man again,” Scar says and they laugh.
“Mek wi get ready,” Gutta says. “And in a the mean time mi a gwaan tell unuh how the G say it a guh work,” he tells them and I put the phone to my ear.
Zara picks up. “Nickoi I can’t talk right now,” she says, irritating me.
“A who you a dealid so?” I ask.
She laughs. “Mi just nah hear yuh good cause the place noisy,” she explains.
“Everything good?” I ask and she says yes. “Alright mi Ghee,” I say with a smile.
“Wah bout ‘Mami’?” She asks and I start laughing. Yuh affi get off the call soon..
“Alright Mami,” I smile before I hear her giggle.
“Nickoi... be safe,” she says and I sigh to myself.
Funny how she a say this now and mi a guh war right now. “Yah.. take care a yuh self,” I hang up.
I walk back inside and realize that at every window one of the Outlawz are lying down while some are lying upstairs, discreetly pointing their guns through the banister. Chubble.
My eyes finds Gutta and he’s at the window next to the entrance. He’s always risking his life for this gang. I shake his hand. “Yah real youth. Kill everything mi Ghee. Wul a we inna this together. We nah lef out no man.”
“One family,” he chuckles.
“Wi a guh good mon. Just make sure unuh nuh lef no man behind,” I turn and say before I walk back to the door that Keno is guarding.
“Mommy gone?” I ask him.
“Yea mon she did cut same time,” he answers. Good.
“Alright so Carlos have on a tracker and him son a fawud now so just keep yuh guards up and do the right,” I tell him. Even though he’s startled about the sudden news he nods.
“Alright mi G,” he says.
“Him nuh know seh mi know so just gwaan mek him feel smart,” I say to Keno and he chuckles.
“Get the bus ready fi you and the man them if anything cause anything can gwaan,” I say.
I always like to be prepared. It makes my life easier. He nods and runs to the back. I open the door and Carlos has a smile on his face. Hmmph.
I take a seat in front of Carlos. “Weh yah smile bout?” I ask, acting as if I don’t know about his plan.
Talia looks away and I know it’s because of her conscience—she finds it hard to make eye contact with me.
Wicked gyal. After two minutes of waiting, Gutta sends me a message that they are here.
I grab Talia and push her chair to the side so that she can get a better angle of her dad.
Mi wah see if she wouldn’t make me know seh mi bout fi be cornered, if that was the case.
Yuh would a wait fi a lifetime mi Don cause she nav no tell a tell yuh.
“How old are you?” Carlos asks. Mi know him a try be slick.
“Mi nuh too young fi kill yuh,” I say and take out my gun.
He chuckles. “You’re dead already.” I furrow my eyebrows.
“Weh yah talk bout?” I ask, acting oblivious. Yuh nuh easy enuh Nickoi.
His smile widens. “Just consider yourself dead.” I start hearing shots and he smirks. I move to the side. I get a good angle and start shooting too.
