Page 87 of Hell Fae Warden
It responded by flinging itself open.
I screeched and slapped my hands over my eyes. “Will you stop it!” I shouted. “Lucifer said he’d kill me if I went near the source again, you fucking book!”
Vita pulsated, like it was nudging my legs.
I growled in annoyance and folded my arms. “I refuse to read you.”
Part of me recognized that this was the most ridiculous thing that had ever happened to me in my existence—I was arguing with an inanimate object.
An inanimate object that was beginning to pulse even more fiercely. So fiercely, in fact, that my jaw was starting to rattle from the vibrations ricocheting up my spine.
“Fuck,” I cursed, finally looking down. “If you pull me into the source again, I swear I will burn all your pages.”
The book shuffled, the pages in question making a fluttering sound that almost resembled a giggle.
I’m losing my fucking mind.
Lucifer had just told me not to mess with his source again, and here I was, staring down at the very item who’d taken me to it to begin with.
Of course, he hadn’t said I couldn’t read the book. Hell, he’d even left it here.
Probably as a test,I reminded myself.A test I’m now failing because I’m looking at an open page.
I shook my head and sighed. “Fine. Show me something worthwhile, then. I should at least enjoy myself before I die.” Maybe it would display that circle again—the one with a naked female between four men.
Four men who had looked suspiciously like Ajax, Az, Melek, and Lucifer.
I wonder which of them fucks the best,I thought.Maybe the book can tell me that as a dying wish.
Alas, to my great disappointment, there weren’t any unsolicited dick pics on the page. Nor were there any sexual profiles.
“That’s fine,” I murmured. “I can use my imagination.”
Ajax was the thicker one, his piercing allowing for interesting tingles below.
Az was the longer, more dominant one, his thrusts… they would be bruising in the best way.
Melek would be attentive, maybe even kind and gentle, and exceptionally thorough.
And Lucifer… well, Lucifer would be punishing. He probably enjoyed doling out pain. A lot of it.
I shivered, all four of them running through my mind, thanks to the book’s depiction of explicit images while Lucifer was here.
The page now was blank, making me wary as to what the book was about to display. But when it sensed it finally had my full attention, it flipped to a new canvas that illustrated a picture of my father.
Definitely a mood killer,I thought, glaring. “Are you showing me my sperm donor because you know where he is?” I asked the book.
Because that would actually be worth risking Lucifer’s wrath for.
From what Az had said, Lucifer wanted my father found. So if the book wanted to reveal his location, I’d happily pass along the information. If nothing more than to see the bastard killed for getting me into this mess.
“All right, I’m listening,” I said while I held up a finger. “But if I even see a glimpse of a blinding light, I’m shutting my eyes and throwing you across the room.”
The book didn’t shuffle its pages this time, instead replacing my father with an image of a glittering star.
I raised a brow.
“Uh, okay?” I waited for more, only for the book to jump up at my chest and fall back into my lap. “Ow!” I snapped at it. “What the fuck?”
