He nodded. “She’s no longer suitable for the trials. So I’ll let the Warden have her, but not before I make an example of them.”
“How merciful of you,” I joked.
He lifted a shoulder. “It’s better than explaining the truth. For now, anyway.”
“You could say I claimed her. I wouldn’t mind.”
“But our Hell Fae might. I can’t afford to play favorites. Not now. Not after everything that’s happened.”
“And that includes our Warden,” I replied, following his logic. “You can’t just give her to him as a gift; he has to earn it.”
“Or be punished for trying to take it without permission,” he countered.
“Locking them in a room together was all the permission he needed, Ty.”
“He should know better than to accept something that easily. Nothing is what it seems in my realm.”
My lips twitched. “Fair. And you’ll make sure he understands that soon.”
“I will.”
“And you’ll enjoy it, too,” I said, my palm finding his hard cock and giving it a stroke through his black pants. “You’re already enjoying the prospect of it.”
“Maybe I’m just intending to enjoy you,” he murmured, his palm going to my nape as his hot breath parted my lips. “Shall I kneel for you, my prince? Prove how grateful I am that you’re in my life?”
I hummed, considering the offer. “It would be a decent start to the apology I desire, yes.” Not that he would ever really voice it. Ty’s version of remorse was usually more physical than verbal. Though, he could occasionally say the words when he felt they were truly needed.
His lips brushed mine. “Then allow me to start making amends,” he said, his palm easily sliding into my pants, as I hadn’t finished buttoning or zipping them yet.
Another explosion from Cami rolled through me at the precise moment Ty found my shaft, causing me to groan both at his touch and her overwhelming passion.
I swallowed, my mind fracturing beneath a wave of hot need. “Promise me you won’t hurt her without talking it through with me first,” I managed to get out. “Vow it.”
“I promise not to hurt her unless she proves to be a viable threat or puts you in danger in some way,” he replied instead.
It wasn’t perfect.
But it was better than before.
I can work with this,I decided, nodding in acceptance of his vow. We’ll improve upon it in time.
“You can start demonstrating your gratitude now,” I told him.
He smiled against my mouth. “It would be my pleasure, little prince.”
CHAPTER27
AJAX
So beautiful,I thought, my gaze on Camillia’s resting form. She wasn’t exactly asleep, just dozing in my arms as we both recovered from our third round of fucking.
Her stamina rivaled mine, proving my precious theories wrong regarding her human side making her more fragile. Whatever genetics she’d inherited from her father had clearly overshadowed her mother’s mortal influence.
I supposed that made sense; most Halflings favored their fae heritage.
“What has you so thoughtful?” Camillia murmured groggily, her gray eyes half-open and staring up at me from my shoulder. She’d curled her naked body into mine, her arm resting on my abdomen while our legs tangled together below.
“Your heritage,” I admitted. “Or rather, your durability as a Halfling and how your Hell Fae origin clearly overpowers your human side.”
