Page 58 of Hell Fae Warden
I swallowed, Melek’s words confirming he’d seen a hell of a lot more than Az being on his knees for Camillia.
He’d seen me fuck her, too.
The Warden.
The fae whom Lucifer blamed for losing Camillia.
The one the Hell Fae King had put in charge of interrogating the runaway bridal candidate.
And what a bang-up job I was doing with that.
The minute Melek delivered his report to Lucifer, I was a dead man. Or a fired one, anyway.
Because there was no way Lucifer would trust me again after this.
And if he couldn’t trust me, then I wouldn’t be welcome in the Hell Fae Realm.
Which meant I no longer had a home.
I no longer had anything at all.
CHAPTER13
CAMI
Az pluckedhis shirt off the floor and handed it to me while staring down Melek. He hadn’t yet answered Melek’s question, which didn’t surprise me since Melek’s summary was pretty accurate.
I slipped into Az’s black T-shirt, the fabric practically fitting me like a dress. I supposed that was easier than pulling my jeans and tank top back on. Besides, the ash-like scent smelled nice. Like the dying embers of a beautiful bonfire.
That must be Az’s Phoenix,I thought, shivering.
“What’s Typhos’s message?” Az demanded, his back blocking my view of Melek.
But I could still see Ajax—who hadn’t bothered to put on clothes. I admired his firm ass, then frowned when I realized he had yet to heal his leg.
Actually, he hadn’t healed himself at all.
Why?
“He needs you back at the palace,” Melek replied. “All three of you.”
Ajax stiffened.
Az merely folded his arms. “We have three days.”
“Not anymore.” The sound of a chair moving echoed through the room, then Melek appeared as he approached Az. “Another portal opened in the Underwater Kingdom. And this time, there were casualties.”
This time, Az tensed. “How? Was the source disturbed again?”
“The source is fine. That incident appears to be unrelated to the rogue portals.” Melek glanced at me with his words. “But Ty needs your help in tracking down whoever is opening these illegal gateways.”
“What about the source problem?” Az asked.
“Ty knows what caused that issue and will be handling it himself.” Melek again looked at me, his warning clear.
The Hell Fae King knows I touched the source.
And now he plans to deal with me directly.
