Page 44 of Hell Fae Warden
It was why I usually let him pierce me for fun.
But the way he was staring at the barbell in my cock right now told me he was thinking about ripping it out, just to watch me bleed.
Instead, his eyes met mine as he hissed out, “Snake rope. Now.”
I sighed. As the Midnight Fae, I would have to conjure them. With a wave of my hand, I called my wand to me and created a new chair for me to sit in, then muttered another spell for the snake vines to appear, effectively wrapping myself up in my own magic.
“I know you said rope, but this way you don’t have to touch them,” I told Camillia, meeting her gaze.
“If you conjured them, I assume they won’t bite you?” she guessed.
“Oh, they’ll bite me,” I promised her. “They don’t care who created them. They exist to defend and bite when they feel threatened.” I lifted a shoulder to demonstrate and winced as one of the snakes sank its fangs into my skin. “Like that.”
She stared at the wound, her lips twisting to the side in a way that suggested she didn’t like it. Perhaps because she hadn’t been the one to inflict it.
“They won’t attack me again unless I move in a way they don’t like or think malicious thoughts.” The former I could easily do, but the latter… that would be more difficult.
Because right now I just felt defeated.
Disappointed in myself.
Confused.
I’d spent thirty days enraged and hurt by betrayal. But when all of that had been ripped out from under me, a void had been left behind.
A void from my past that only seemed to widen with each passing second in this place.
Camillia said nothing for a long moment, her focus seeming to shift to the slowly healing wounds on my naked body.
She examined the dark mark on my shoulder, near where the snake had bitten me, likely noting the difference in coloration. The bite wound was fresh, the blood red and normal there. While the other was black, my essence tainted by Az’s magic that continued to feed on my energy.
She found a similar one near my rib cage, then glanced at the one on my thigh again before her gaze trailed upward to my groin. I was half-hard, thanks to Az’s fiery touch.
And maybe I was a little turned on by the fact that I was tied up, naked, and under threat of pain while a beautiful woman observed.
I’d never been into typical sex. I preferred danger. Agony chased by bliss. Dark themes.Blades.
She arched a brow at my growing arousal. “You like this?”
I shrugged. “I don’t hate it.” Nor did I hate her. On the contrary, I quite liked her. Even in that fitted tank top and jeans, I found her undeniably sexy. Which was saying something, given that I’d seen her in a variety of revealing outfits during her time as a bridal candidate.
I probably should be trying to fight my arousal for her, especially considering she was likely going to slowly torture me and kill me. But I didn’t see the point in hiding my attraction. We’d come here for honesty, after all, hadn’t we?
Still, hunger wound through me when she softly bit her lower lip as her gaze fell again. It was likely an unintended gesture, but it did things to me that only made my cock harden.
She frowned. “I need to do more.” She glanced around, her gaze going to the water cooler and then to the ground. “Melek’s present he left you.”
“Melek left me a present?” I asked, confused.
She picked up a vial and showed it to me. “Truth Serum for Ajax,” she read.
My lips curled downward. “I didn’t ask him for a truth serum.”
She blinked, then looked at the item again. “Oh. It’s for me.” She met my gaze again. “To use on you.”
Of course it was. Either Melek had overheard my offer to Az, or he was suddenly a fortune teller. “Clever fucking fae,” I muttered. Then I opened my mouth while holding Camillia’s gaze, making it clear that I would drink it without force.
If she wanted my truths, I’d give them to her. Although, I had no idea what she could possibly want to know. But it seemed she was hell-bent on re-creating the interrogation I’d put her through, so I’d play along.
