Page 139 of Hell Fae Warden
She wasn’t trying to keep anything on.
She was trying to stop herself fromcoming.
My lips parted. That’s why she couldn’t walk earlier,I realized. That fucking outfit is stimulating her clit.
I hadn’t taken the time to properly admire her in the chains, as it had felt wrong to do so, given the situation, but now that I was studying the outfit, I could see where it looped down her center to cover her sex.
Fuck.
The cage moved again, this time resulting in Cami making fists as her entire body trembled.
She was close to the edge. If she had an orgasm while in Lucifer’s cage, that would finalize her humiliation.
She couldn’t take much more of this. And I couldn’t either.
Whatevertestthis might be wasn’t worth Cami’s pain. This had gone on long enough.
“Release me,” I told Az. “Now.”
“No,” he replied, but he seemed preoccupied with Cami’s state, his lips curling downward into a frown. Perhaps because he’d just realized what I had—that Cami was about to come in front of all these panting Hell Fae.
I very much doubted his Phoenix would approve of that.
My gaze went to Melek to find him transfixed on Cami as well, his own expression not showcasing his usual amusement. Which suggested he also wasn’t keen on this demonstration.
He leaned in to say something to Lucifer, causing the Hell Fae King to glance at Cami. He shrugged, then went back to a device in his hand.
Is that doing something to Cami? To the cage?I wondered.Or is he just sending a message to one of his Nightmare Fae Kings?
“No,” I said, the word filled with my rage. “I don’t accept this.”
Az startled as though he’d forgotten I was beside him.
But his energy held fast, keeping me frozen while I watched Cami bite her lower lip.
“Constantine once held me captive beneath a spell,” I told Az, my voice low. “Forced me to watch all those I cared about lose their will to live just before he cemented them in stone.”
I looked up at him, ensuring he could see every ounce of agony I felt when recalling that cruel day.
“Now you’re forcing me to observe Cami lose her fight. She may not be my mate, or my family, but she’s the first woman to make me feel anything more than death in the last decade. Andyouare forcing me to watch her suffer. Tying me down. Making me powerless.Just like Constantine.”
Az winced. “Ajax.”
“No.” I wouldn’t hear his reasoning or his platitudes anymore. “This is wrong.” Cami was ours to protect. And we were letting her writhe up on that stage for the entire fucking kingdom to see. “I’ll never forgive you for this.”
There might be a logical explanation for all of this, one I would have understood a week ago. Fuck, I might have even accepted it hours ago.
But not now.
Not after watching Lucifer put Cami’s body on display like some sort of power move.
She’s not a statement.
She isn’t entertainment.
She’s a person.Myperson.
A beautiful warrior and a woman of integrity and strength.
