Story: Reluctantly Rogue
I also love that she’s willing to share this with my friend. Torin’s great, and I know that he will listen to anything Linnea presents him. He’s also very excited about the energy initiatives he’s been hearing about. But he gets very worked up when it comes to having to deal with his grandfather. Sometimes those emotions can keep him from being fully rational and patient.
“I also had some clothes sent up,” I tell her as I pour coffee and slide a scone onto a plate for her.
She looks at me with surprise. “Clothes?”
“We’re going to play tourist today. I assumed you hadn’t packed anything that would be appropriate for just walking around and blending in.”
She smiles and shakes her head. “But I’ve already seen D.C. a few times. I’ve done all the museums and monuments.”
I smile. I have too. “Not like this.”
She gives me a thoughtful look. “Okay.”
I don’t think she has any idea how hot it makes me when she just goes along with my plans.
“How did you know my size?”
I lift a brow. “Duchess…”
She waves her hand. “Right. You know everything about me.”
“I do. Plus, I had my hands all over your body last night. I promise you that I could guess within a half-size now.”
She blushes prettily and laughs. “Fair enough. I’m impressed.”
“So eat. And drink lots of water,” I tell her, tapping the end of her nose. “Then work fast. I have a lot planned for you today.”

Linnea

“Ithink this is amazing,” Torin says over the phone. “Thank you for this.”
“You don’t have to thank me. I think this is going to be fantastic. It will create so many jobs, plus show our people that we’re interested in creative, new ways to make work actuallyworkfor families and that we understand and are committed to helping with work-life balance. These kinds of incentives for our workers can make us competitive with the labor costs Canada is offering James.”
“I agree. It’s innovative, progressive, and a win-win. But Idoappreciate you taking the lead with James. I didn’t expect this trip to be about work, Linnea. But he obviously likes you better than me.”
I laugh. “Well, I’m glad you’re happy about that. So you’re not upset when I tell you that I’m not interested in dating him.”
Torin sighs. “All right. A fantastic new energy program for the countryanda new fiancé for you was probably too much to ask.”
My cheeks heat and my eyes find Jonah across the room. He’s lounging in one of the chairs, typing on his phone.
Obviously there were no marriage proposals last night, and he hasn’t said anything about me canceling my date tonight with Christian, but last night was amazing. I can’t imagine going out with another man after having Jonah’s hands and mouth all over me.
I don’t care what my sister says, there’s no way sex is always like that.
We didn’t even havesex. A detail I’m very aware of. Jonah never even got completely naked. I would very much like to correct that as soon as possible. But I enjoyed every minute last night. I have never felt more wanted, more beautiful, or more taken care of in my life. There is no way that is common with every single man.
“You are seeing Senator Waite tonight, correct?” Torin asks.
“I am.”
“Well, fingers crossed you have a fantastic time.”
I laugh. It will never not be strange that my current fiancé is so excited about me going on a date with another man.
