“By all means. You were a wild one.”

“When Dean told me to find out who I was without him, my first thought was of that kiss.”

“Really?”

“Yes, I met Dean soon after that and the rest, as they say, is history.”

“Do you know what happened to the woman?”

Elena shook her head.

“Do you want to find her?”

“No! Not at all.”

“But that kiss…”

Elena smiled. “That kiss tells me that maybe I’m not straight.”

Cat stared at Elena, but before she could say anything, Cory came around the bar.

“Sorry about that,” Cory said. “We had a little run of customers.”

“It’s okay,” Elena said. “Cat knows where the wine is.”

Cory chuckled. “I see she took care of y’all.”

“I didn’t mind,” Cat said. She went to take a sip from her glass and realized it was empty.

“Would you like another splash of wine?’ Cory asked, holding the bottle.

Cat covered the top of her glass. “I have to drive home.”

“Me too,” Elena said, taking her last sip. “That was excellent wine, Cory.”

Cat saw Elena reach in her purse and take out her wallet. “Oh, no,” Cat said, covering Elena’s hand with hers. “I’ve got this.”

“But I invited you,” Elena protested.

“I’ve got this,” Cory said. “I’m happy you both came by although I didn’t get to visit with you.”

“Thank you, Cory. Next time is on me,” Elena said, smiling at her.

“Thanks, sis. I’ll see you tomorrow.”

Cat and Elena walked out of The Liquor Box through CeCe’s salon and back to the bookstore.

“That was fun. We should do it again,” Elena commented.

“I’d like that,” Cat said with a smile. “Let me get my purse and I’ll walk out with you.”

“You were going to pay, but you didn’t take your money with you?” Elena asked.

Cat chuckled. “My credit is good at that bar.” She began to walk to the front door with Elena in step beside her.

“Um, Nicolas completed my project this evening. Would you like to see it tomorrow?”

Cat gasped. “Yes!”
