Cat smiled and put her hand on the side of Elena’s face. “That’s why it was so powerful then, because, babe…” Cat trailed off.

“I know!”

Cat pulled Elena’s face down so she could give her a kiss full of love.

“It’s our love,” Elena said, pulling away. “It’s only going to grow. Can you imagine?—”

Elena had a gleam in her eyes Cat hadn’t seen before.

“We’re going to explode one day in ecstasy,” Elena finished, flopping down on the bed next to Cat. “I can see the headline. ‘Couple ignites into flames from hot love that couldn’t be contained.’”

Cat laughed. “Oh, this is going to be fun.” She rolled onto her side and gave Elena a menacing look. “Don’t you dare go without me.”

Elena began to laugh. “Oh, Cat. I don’t want to go anywhere without you.”

“Good,” Cat said, raising up. “I am going to have to go to work soon, but first, let’s be sure you felt what I felt.”

Cat claimed Elena’s lips in a kiss that left no doubts about what was about to happen.

Elena was trying to take a deep breath and said, “One of these days, I want to spend the entire day in bed with you.”

Cat chuckled. “That sounds like fun, but right now you’ve got to take me home so I can get ready for work.”

“Do you promise?”

“Promise what?”

“That you’ll spend a day in bed with me,” Elena clarified.

Cat smiled as she rested her head on her hand. “Let’s do it this weekend.”

“Okay.” Elena smiled. “You know, you could shower here.”

“Yes, but I didn’t bring any other clothes. You’re not going to make me do the walk of shame into my bookstore, are you?”

Elena narrowed her gaze then her eyes widened. “You could wear your jeans from last night and one of my shirts.”

“Hmm, I guess I could go commando and wear my bra another day.”

“That way,” Elena said, brushing a curl from Cat’s face, “we could have breakfast together.”

“You’re going to feed me?”

Elena chuckled. “I’m sure I can find something you’d like.”

Cat gave her one of those sexy grins that Elena couldn’t resist.

“God, I love you,” Elena said.

“I love you, too.” Cat said, sitting up on the side of the bed and slapping Elena on the butt. “You’ve got a deal, ma’am. I’m getting in the shower while you find me a shirt.”

Elena watched Cat walk naked to the shower and couldn’t quite believe she’d spent most of the night making love to this incredible woman. The best part was that she knew Cat loved her back.

She looked through her closet and found a shirt she hoped Cat would like. Elena left it on the bed and went to start the coffee. They hadn’t slept much last night, but she felt more rested than she had in a long time.

Elena busied herself making coffee and was toasting them both an English muffin when Cat walked into the kitchen.

“Do I smell coffee?” Cat said, inhaling deeply.
