“Open it,” Cat instructed her.

“Can I have a kiss first?” Elena asked.

Cat nodded slightly and pulled Elena’s lips to hers. In heels, Cat was almost as tall as Elena. She felt Elena’s hands slide under her shirt and wrap around her back. Their soft lips melded together and Cat could feel the fire rush through her. She pulled away and took a breath. “Open the box.”

Elena stared into her eyes and Cat could see she didn’t want to let her go.

“I promise you’ll like it,” Cat added.

“I like what’s in my hands right now,” Elena said.

Cat giggled. “We’ll get to all of that. Please, open the box.” She reached behind her and took Elena’s hands from her body.

“You are so fucking sexy,” Elena said.

Cat smiled, raised her eyebrows, and nodded towards the box.

Elena dropped Cat’s hands and turned towards the box. She took the top off and underneath several layers of tissue paper she discovered a matching bra and panties that looked like the ones Cat had on, only they were red.

“I want to see you in red and find out if it does the same thing to me as it does to you when I wear your favorite bra.”

Elena held up the bra and looked into Cat’s eyes. “I’ve never worn anything like this.”

“I’m hoping you’ll feel special just as I do when I put on my sexy lingerie because you, Elena Burkett, are an incredible woman.”

Elena smiled at her.

“I laid a shirt on the bed you can wear over them. Go change, please,” Cat said. “I’ll be there in a minute.”

“I can’t believe this,” Elena said.

“Believe it,” Cat replied. “You are the most amazing woman I’ve ever met and I want to show you what you mean to me.”

Elena put the bra back in the box and picked it up. “Don’t take too long.”

Cat smiled, leaned over and softly pressed her lips to Elena’s. “I’ll be right there.”

When Elena left the room, Cat took another deep breath. Desire was running through her like never before and her heart was pounding. She wanted to give Elena a special night and planned to take her time, but it was proving to be harder than she’d thought.

Cat grabbed the bottle of wine and went into the kitchen to open it. She had already packed a light supper into a basket and placed it in the middle of the bed. After grabbing two glasses, she took one more deep breath and walked down the hall.

Elena was in the bathroom when Cat walked into the bedroom. She poured them both a glass of wine and sat on the foot of the bed.

“I’m waiting,” Cat said, “and not so patiently.”

She could hear Elena giggle from the bathroom and wasn’t ready for what she saw once Elena opened the door. Cat had always thought of Elena as beautiful. She carried her lithe body with a grace that often made Cat pause. And now she stood in the doorway to the bathroom wearing the red lingerie with a crisp white shirt open at the front just like Cat’s.

Thank goodness Cat was sitting because just looking at the woman she loved in that outfit made her weak in the knees. “Oh my God, El. You are even more beautiful than I imagined.”

“You’re right. I feel special and I love the way you’re looking at me,” Elena said.

Cat stood up and held out her hand. Elena glided towards her and grasped her hand. Cat looked Elena up and down in awe. “If I know you’re wearing this and you come into the bookstore, we will immediately have to go to the back room,” she said.

Elena chuckled. “Now you know how I feel when you tell me what color you’re wearing under your clothes.”

Cat smiled and led Elena around to her side of the bed. She gently pushed her to sit and handed her a glass of wine. Then she went around to her side of the bed and joined Elena. “We’re having a picnic in bed. We both knew we were going to end up here.”

“This is amazing. You are amazing,” Elena whispered as she leaned over and kissed Cat.
