“I hope so.” Vi grinned.

“CeCe’s right. She’ll love it,” Cat agreed.

“Of course you can!” Cat and CeCe said in unison. “Anything for our big sister,” Cat added.

“I’d better get back to the house. You’re welcome to come help us start unpacking,” Vi said, walking towards the front door. She waved and then she was gone.

Cat wanted to tell them why she was happy, but decided to wait. This was Cory and Vi’s moment and she wanted them to have all the attention.

Later on that afternoon Elena came walking into the bookstore with a big smile on her face.

Cat watched as Elena’s eyes scanned the bookstore to find her. Once their eyes met, the smile on Elena’s face got even bigger.

“Hi,” Elena said.

“Hi yourself,” Cat replied, reaching for her hand. “Jessica, we’ll be in the back.”

“Okay,” Jessica replied, not looking up from where she was shelving books.

“Where are we going?” Elena giggled.

“Where do you think we’re going?” Cat replied, wiggling her eyebrows.

Cat led them into the toy room, then closed the door and locked it. She pushed Elena against the door. “I’ve got big news, but first.” Cat claimed Elena’s lips and kissed her like they’d been separated for days instead of a few hours.
