Miles’ voice sounds fuzzy when he says, “What?”

“Enough points, and I’ll let her go.” Sawyer stares past me at Miles.

“Plenty of things can get you points, bunny. I’m going to give you points for taking the pill like I told you to. Two points.” Sawyer looks relaxed and unbothered, and he smiles.

I narrow my eyes. “How many points do I need for you to let me go?”

“I haven’t decided yet.” He watches the man behind me. For a second, his gaze softens. Then it snaps back to his happy mask.

“Anything we want to do to you…fuck you, mark you, hunt you, will get you points. The more fun, the more points.”

I cross my arms. “So you owe me points for branding me.”

“Yeah, but points also get taken away.” Sawyer shrugs. “You earned one hundred points for that. But you also tried to run. Which is the biggest no-no. So two hundred points are deducted.”

“Two hundred?” I sputter. This fucker! He’s just playing with me again. As if my life and freedom are something he plays with like they’re a game.

I throw my hands in the air. “So you can just take points away at random because you feel like it!”

“Well, I do make the rules, bunny. But no. The only hard rules are: don’t run and don’t try to communicate with the outside world. Those are the only two rules that you will absolutely get deducted on every time. But because I’m feeling generous, I’ll let you start at zero.”

Miles pushes me off his lap. “Do you swear you’ll let her go?” His voice sounds disbelieving.

“If she gets enough points…I swear.”

The two men share some silent communication. Sawyer’s eyes are serious. Miles’ shoulders relax.

I swallow. Sawyer thinks he’s already won. It makes me want to punch him in the face.

I square my shoulders and turn to Miles. “I want to earn more points.”

Sawyer says, “That’s not how it works. We decide when you get them and what you do.”

Oh, the sense of control this must give Sawyer. He knows I don’t want to ask for any of this. So I look him in his triumphant blue eyes. “How much to fuck Miles?”

His eyebrows shoot up a fraction.

I cross my arms. As I do, my world spins. I blink. What meds did he give me?

Sawyer is watching me like a hawk. “You know what? I’ll give you thirty points. Lay down.”

I glare at him. He’s testing me. Seeing if I’ll obey. As much as I hate it, I have to.

I lay down on the bed so I can still see both of them. My brand burns at the movement, and the world spins again. My leg is at an awkward angle because of the cuff.

“Miles,” Sawyer barks. “On your knees.”

Hot hands grab my ankle and unlock me. Then they spin me around so my legs are facing them. Sawyer rips both my legs open. I fight him, but his grip is harsh and firm.
