“Okay, enough with the sappy shit,” I laugh. “Either fuck me again or get me some clothes.”
Miles’ eyes gleam. “Sorry. Legs broken. Can’t get any.”
I laugh. “Then I’ll just be stealing yours.”
“Fine with me.” Sawyer winks.
“She’s wearing mine.” Miles looks around, realizing he doesn’t have any with him, and darts up.
“Not a chance,” Sawyer growls at him, starting to chase after him.
I glance at Ryder, and he rolls his eyes. “That’ll never change. Now, spread your legs so we can do it again.”
Epilogue
Cali
Afew months later
“Would you sit still?” Miles yanks on my hair.
“Can’t.” I shift again, delicious tingles running through me. It’s Sawyer’s turn with the remote-controlled vibrator, and the fucker is taking full advantage.
“Fuck, Cali. Sit fucking still.” Miles gives another yank and leans over to look at his phone. He’s trying a new braid that I said I liked and has cussed more than I’ve heard in a long time.
The men have opened up to me more in the past few months. Ryder has even let me do the dishes. And told me about his mom. In fact, all of them have told me about their families. I’d be lying if I said it didn’t feel fucking good. The cops are still looking for them, so we haven’t been able to go back, but that’s okay. We’ve made a home here and I’m the happiest I’ve ever been.
The vibrator changes frequency again. I glance around, trying to see if I can spot Sawyer.
Suddenly, there’s a startled yell from down the hall, and I jump. Colorful cussing fills the house, and heavy footsteps march our way. Ryder appears.
“This fucking thing.” Ryder hurls something small and dark at me, and I startle. The object bounces off my chest. It’s a mouse. A mother fucking mouse.
I scream, darting up and yanking my hair out of Miles’ hands. “What the hell?”
“Fucking hell, Cali,” Miles groans. “I’m going to have to start over.”
Ryder motions at it. “Your fucking cat just left that in my bed.”
The mouse doesn’t move. Oh my god, is it…dead?
A deep laugh breaks out, and Sawyer saunters into the room from the kitchen. “What, scared of a little mouse, Ryder?”
Ryder straightens. “No! It was in my bed. He won’t stop leaving me things.”
Sawyer smirks. “Awww, Ryder. No reason to be scared. You’re like a hundred times bigger than it.” He grabs the mouse gently and goes to throw it outside.
Ryder crosses his arms. “I’m not scared.”
Sawyer winks at me on his way back, then turns to Ryder. “You know, cats bring offerings when they think you can’t hunt. Halloweiner thinks you’re the weakest of the group.”
Ryder lifts a dark eyebrow.
Sawyer shrugs. “He’s smart.”
Ryder moves almost too fast for me to track, throwing Sawyer down on the couch by him. They exchange a few heavy blows, skin thudding on skin.
“Fucking children.” Miles motions at me. “Come here, let me finish.”
