Page 24 of Wanna Play A Game?
“Who the fuck are you?” I scream. “Fucking let me go!”
“You didn’t charm her?” The man at the fridge says. “C’mon, dude. Losing your edge.”
I struggle and headbutt, then dig my teeth into the man’s shoulder.
“Fuck!” The man holding me drops me. I fall heavily on my ass. I scramble to get up.
“You didn’t tell me she was a banshee.” The man snatches my arm and drags me down the hall. “Thanks for the heads up.”
“You like them that way.” The other man chuckles.
“Let me go!” I kick back at the man holding me, and he flings me into his arms again. He takes us into a doorway on the right, and I notice it’s a bedroom before he plops me on the bed.
“I’ll kill you!” I scream.
He wrestles my leg down. “I have no doubt you would if you could.” He whips out a neon blue rope from nowhere and ties my leg to the bedpost. I get a good kick in on his chest, making him cough. He just pins my other leg down and ties it too. My arms are still tied behind me.
I scream. My chest heaves for breath. And I realize, horrified, that I want to cry.
The masked man whips his mask off.
I freeze. This one has closely cropped dark hair, green eyes, and a square jaw with a dimple on his chin. He looks about the same age as the other one, in his mid-thirties. Why do they both have to be the hottest men I’ve ever seen?
The man above me reaches suddenly toward my head, and I flinch automatically. He freezes, staring at me. Then, slowly, he reaches behind me. “I’m not going to hurt you. What do you say you work with me, yeah?”
My adrenaline rushes, waiting for him to hit me. “I’d love to, but I don’t team up with kidnapping rapists. Maybe next year,” I spit.
There’s a laugh from the doorway, and I glance over. The original man leans in the doorway with one hand on the frame above his head.
The man over me snaps, making me flinch again, “I thought you said you’d leave us alone if I was here, dude.” He turns back to me.
“I’m gonna roll you over enough to cut your wrists loose. Don’t claw my eyes out, okay?”
I just glare at him.
“I’ll take that as an enthusiastic: yes, sir.” He rolls me, and I stiffen at the flip of a knife. But when he cuts my hands free, I feel instant relief. As soon as I pull my hands out from under me, he snatches up the right one and straps it down. I claw at whatever I can as he does that. Quick as fuck, he leans over me to strap my left down.
Yep. Not sweet. More leather and…coconut. He smells good.
I flip him off.
The man smirks slightly, then slides off the bed. He marches to the door and shuts it, closing the other man out. I glance around the room. It’s a large bedroom, clean, with no frills. Just some dressers, a chair, and a guitar. It looks like it belongs to a man.
Is this his room?
The man walks back toward me. He looks pissed. I watch as he moves past me and two large windows facing what appears to be the front yard.
The man notices me looking. “You won’t be getting out through those. Trust me, you’re safer with me than you are out there.”
Now I can hear the difference in their voices. This man’s voice is smoother and less gravely.
I see what game they’re playing. A fucked up version of good cop, bad cop. “Oh, really?” I yank at my bonds. “Is that whyI’m tied up looking like this, alone on the bed of the man who kidnapped me?”
“I didn’t kidnap you.”
I glare at him. “Sorry. I misinterpreted it when you tackled me, forced me on your bike, then tied me to your bed.”
He shakes his head and moves to the bathroom. I hear the water running before he comes back with a cup.
