‘Raven. I asked you a question.’ His tone was firm, and he slowed the pace of his own strokes, delaying the build of the orgasm enough that I whimpered in protest. ‘Are you going to come for me?’ He repeated.
I nodded furiously, “Yes, Amon. Please.”
‘Say it.’ He ordered, withdrawing his power further, smirking devilishly across my mind as he did so. He was enjoying this. He enjoyed making me beg for him. I had no problem begging if that’s what he wanted.
“I’m going to come for you, Amon,” I gasped. My fingers continued to work, but it didn’t come close to how good it had felt with Amon’s help. “Please, let me come for you.” I begged, and his approval curled through my mind, before he resumed his firm, steady strokes. I was almost instantly back on the edge. The rush of the pending orgasm crashed through my body and my breath turned to short, ragged gasps as he finally pushed me over.
The power of the sensation forced me to stop what I had been doing and he nearly snarled in agitation.
‘Do not stop, continue to touch yourself until you are finished.’ He ordered, and I made myself do as he said, crying out into my hand as the already powerful orgasm intensified.
‘That’s it, Raven. Fuck. You’re so fucking beautiful when you come.’ He rasped, as I continued to ride the seemingly endless waves of pleasure that rolled through my body.
When it was over, and I was spent, I leaned my head back against the bed frame, gasping for air.
“That was…”
‘That was only a taste of what I will do to you when I get home.’ He promised, though I could hear a hint of smugness in his own voice at how thoroughly he had satisfied me. He hadn’t even needed to be in the same room, and he had reduced me to a puddle of burning nerve endings.
‘Now that you seem to be more relaxed,’ his tone was filled with amusement, and I bit back a smile. Cocky bastard. ‘Why don’t you tell me what you’ve been up to since I last saw you? Did you meet with Kael and Sabel?’
I got up on shaky legs and headed for the shower to clean up, before launching into a retelling of all that had happened since he had last visited my mind. I could feel him swell with love and pride when I told him about freeing Cerenah, and how Kael and Sabel had managed to gild my blades with shadowstone. I told him our plans to get Jeremy suited up with some guns before we headed out to The Court of Greed to find Kasha, and I felt him shake his head in amazement.
‘You are incredible, my love.’ He told me, as I stepped into the hot stream of water. I wrapped my arms around myself and imagined it was him holding me.
“I am coming to save you next.” I promised him.
He chuckled, and he rolled his power through me, in an effort to mimic an embrace.
‘You have already saved me, Raven.’
It didn’t feel like that. It felt like I had condemned him.
“I love you.” I whispered.
‘I will never grow tired of hearing you say those words.’ He told me, and the way he said it, made me feel as if the words meant more to him than he let on.
“I do love you. More than I have ever loved anything, Amon. I love you so much that it scares me.”
‘I have been afraid of how much I love you since the day I pulled you out of that statue.’ He replied, his tone soft. ‘There was a time where I thought you would never return my feelings.’
I felt a rush of sadness and heartache at his words. When I first met him, I hadn’t trusted him at all. It had taken quite a bit of time for me to realize that I was falling in love with him. Understanding now, that he had known that whole time that we were mates and hadn’t wanted me to feel trapped, broke my heart for him.
“Well, I do,” I reassured him. “I am yours, Amon. I will always be yours.”
His smile spread through my mind, and I felt a warm rush of love radiate through my consciousness.
‘I know that, Raven. Which is why you must listen to me, when I tell you not to worry about me. Knowing that I have you, whether I deserve you or not, gets me through even the darkest of nights. There is nothing that they can do to me, that you will not be able to wash away with a single smile or touch.’
“Of course you deserve me.” I whispered, willing him to believe me. To see himself the way I saw him. He grew sad, and quiet for a moment.
‘Perhaps, one day, I will.’ I felt him force himself to brighten, despite the crippling sadness that curled through his thoughts. ‘Until that day, I will continue to selfishly take what you give me, for as long as you are willing to give it.’
Raven
Roughly halfway through my shower, Amon abruptly left my mind again, leaving me feeling raw, angry and worried. Forcing down the overwhelming emotions, I slid into my armor and made my way to the common room to meet the rest of the team.
Sitting in the shower and worrying about it wouldn’t do anything to get him back. Taking action would. So I pushed myself to get ready, and tried not to let my imagination get the better of me and dwell on what could be happening to my mate.
