ONE YEAR LATER

Ally

Cradling my pregnant belly, I thank the guard with a friendly smile as he lets me into the visiting room.

I take a seat on the hard plastic chair, groaning when the pain in my back worsens. As much as I love these two little girls growing inside me, they are wreaking havoc on my body.

A few moments later, the door opens again, and in walks someone I never planned on seeing again, but couldn’t resist the opportunity.

“Mrs. Carter,” I smile. “Wonderful to see you again.”

Her eyes widen in shock before her lip peels back in disgust. “What are you doing here?” she sneers as the guard shoves her down onto the seat in front of me.

He stands behind her, arms behind his back.

I don’t care that he’s here; I’m not here to make threats or do anything that could get me in trouble.

“I thought I’d come and pay you a visit.” I shrug. “There’s so much to catch up on.”

“I don’t want to catch up with you,” she growls. “I never wanted to see you again in my life.”

“Whelp, too bad for you, I guess,” I laugh, leaning forward. “Because here I am. And don’t act so sour. I’m a fucking delight.”

The guard behind her snorts out a small laugh. I shoot him a wink. Turns out, his daughter is a big fan. I may have given him an autograph for his troubles.

“You’re something alright,” she hisses. “A sinner. That's what you are. What have you been doing with your life, Alisha?” She looks down at my belly and snorts. “Got packed up, I see. Or are you just some low-life whore who doesn’t know who her baby’s daddy is?”

“Low life whore?” My brows pull together, my attention going to the guard. “Do they not get the news in this place?”

“She doesn’t watch it. Says something about it being the devil's gospel,” he snorts.

“Ah, I see you're just as crazy as ever.” I sigh, shaking my head. “Well, you're right about one thing, I don't know who my baby’s daddy is.” I laugh. “But that’s because we chose not to know. I do know who the running contenders are, does that make it any better?”

“You're a disgrace,” she spits.

“I’m something for sure, but a disgrace isn’t one of them. Unless my being all packed up and madly in love with your daughter is a disgrace.”

Oh, the pure fucking joy I get from the utter horror that shows on her face.

“No.” She shakes her head. “No. My Lucinda would never. You're lying. I have people who come to visit me. My friends, sisters of the church. They already told me what Lulu is doing with her life. She’s married to a nice man of the church with two kids now.”

My eyes widen at the utter bullshit before I burst out laughing so hard I pee myself just a little bit.

“Stop laughing at me!” she shouts.

“I’m sorry,” I gasp, tears running down my cheeks. “It’s just so funny.”

“There's nothing funny about what I just said. You have some nerve coming here and spreading lies.”

“Oh, honey. The only lies told were the ones your ‘ sisters’ told you.” I shake my head, wiping my eyes with the back of my hand. “Lulu is not married, but she is engaged.” I pull a piece of paper out of my purse and lay it on the table. “But it’s not to a man of the church.”

She looks down and reads the wedding invitation.

You're invited to the wedding of Lulu Carter, Ally Williams, Nate Wilder, and Liam Cross as they take the last name of their fellow pack mates, Gavin and Brady Harrison, to become Pack Harrison.

We welcome you to celebrate the love they have for one another while they make their commitment as a pack official in front of their friends and family.

“No.” She shakes her head. “No. This is fake. This isn’t real.”

“I don’t know what you’ve been told, but it’s all a lie. Lulu left our hometown and went to Calling Wood. She took control of her own life and became the Omega she was always meant to be. Pack, heats, Alphas, all included."

“No!” she shouts.

“Yes!” I shout back, anger coiling inside me.

“You tried to keep us apart. You don’t think I believed that text Lulu sent me all those years ago was really her, did you?

I knew it was you. I’ve never asked her about it, but I knew it was fucking you.

All you ever wanted was for us to be apart.

And, yes, it worked for a while. But in the end, we found each other because we were meant to be.

We’re in love. Together. Even formed a pack.

And hey, guess what, you're gonna be a grandma.” I rub at my belly.

“She’s pregnant too. With a little boy and me, with two girls.

All the babies were conceived with our Alphas and Beta.

Our pack. Pack, pack, pack!” I shout. “Because being an Alpha or an Omega isn't a sin. Having a pack of people who love you and would do anything for you isn’t a fucking sin!” I vibrate with anger, but so does she. I can see the pure hatred in her eyes.

“Don’t worry, these babies will have the best grandparents to take your place. My mom. My dads . You know, the ones you always hated.”

“You're just saying all this to hurt me. They’re lies. All lies! My Lucinda would never.”

“No, but Lulu would. She’s not the girl you tried to force her to be.

The girl you abused and took advantage of, tried to brainwash, and fucking assaulted!

” I spit. “You hurt Lulu. What you did fucking destroyed her. But guess what? She’s a fucking survivor, and she overcame all the evil shit you put her through. ”

“I was trying to save her!” she screams, lunging for me, but the guard shoves her back down into her seat hard.

“Enough!” he bellows. “Sit down.”

“It’s okay. I’m done here,” I tell him with a soft smile, getting to my feet.

Leaning over the table, I get in her face.

“One last thing, I want to leave here with you knowing that Lulu is living the life you tried to keep her from. You didn’t win.

You lost. She is a happy, healthy Omega living her best life with her Alphas.

Her pack. And me. Having all the gay sex we want.

” I cackle as her face grows red. “All your fucked up bullshit was for nothing.

And because of that, you get to rot here until you're old and gray.” I lean in and whisper, “You think you know the devil? Honey, you know nothing. But I do. And he’s on my side.

You're not safe. You will never be safe.” I stand back up and head towards the door.

“It was nice seeing you, Mrs. Carter.” I smile over my shoulder. “I’ll be sure to remind your daughter how fucking amazing she is every damn day for the rest of my life.”

And with those parting words, I leave the prison and head back home, to my pack. To my Omega. The love of my life. My everything.

The monsters of the world tried to keep us apart, but we never backed down. We got up and fought. They lost. We won.

And that's how it will always be. We will fight. We will win.

Because the universe has it written in the stars.

Our love is what songs are made of, what stories are told about, and what movies try to recreate.

Our love is pure and raw.

And no one will ever be able to take that away from us.

Not again. Not ever.
