Page 22 of Rhythm Of Our Souls (Heartbreak Melody #3)

Every time I end up catching feelings for someone, I’ve had to keep away from them.

Now, I don’t. This is new. I’m not used to it.

“Tell me about yourself,” I say in between bites.

“Well...” he blows out a breath. “I was born and raised in Los Angeles. I’m thirty-one, have a twin brother, Gavin.

We’re part of the Steel Devils MC. My brother and I own an autobody shop.

Our father is the president of the MC, and we have a younger sister, Dakota, whose pack mates are the Prez and VP of another chapter. ”

“So my Alpha is a biker man.” I grin.

“Yup,” he chuckles.

“Can you take me for a ride sometime?”

His eyes light up. “I have it outside the bus. We can drive it there to the compound to pick up the others if you want.”

“Really?” I ask, lighting up. “I thought bikers don’t let anyone else ride their bike?”

“Normally, they don’t. Our bikes are our babies. But we make an exception for our Old Ladies. Lulu has been the only other person to ride on mine. And now, you.”

“So, I’m your Old Lady now, huh?”

Brady’s eyes flick between mine before he grips my chin, tilting my head up. “You’re so much more, Ally,” he murmurs before pressing a kiss to my lips.

It’s soft and slow, but it leaves my head spinning.

“We need to talk,” I rasp, feeling the heat between my legs grow.

“About what?” he asks, looking concerned.

“If you’re going to keep being all hot and whatever, I’m going to end up demanding you fuck me.”

A shocked laugh slips out of him. “I don’t think that would be an issue.”

I bite my lip. Because, for me... it is. Well, it’s not. But seeing how I haven’t had a real cock inside me since I was twenty-one, it’s kind of a big deal.

The reality that my next heat is going to be one not spent alone, locked in a hotel with a number of toys to do the job, has me both thrilled and terrified.

Who’s going to be a part of it? Will Liam and Nate join in, too? Is that too much, too soon? What about Lulu, would that be too much?

“Sweetheart, you okay?” Brady asks, voice tinged with a hint of concern.

I shake my head, snapping myself out of my own thoughts. “I’m good.” I halfheartedly laugh. “Sorry, still sleepy. Let me go shower and get dressed, and we can head over and get the others.”

“I’m not sure Lulu will be awake yet,” Brady says, looking down at his phone. “No text from her.”

“She’s still not a morning person either?”

“No.” He grins.

“Are you?”

He shrugs. “I’m a night owl, but I don’t mind the mornings. If I wake up and everyone else is sleeping, I normally just take a drive, enjoying the morning stillness before the world wakes up.”

That makes me smile. “That's me, but at night. I like to just be alone, watching the stars, listening to the sounds of the night while everyone is sleeping.”

“You like the quiet?”

I shake my head, looking away. “No,” I whisper. “It normally leads me to think.”

“You don't like to think?”

My eyes find his, and I hate how they sting. “No. Because when I do, it’s always my brain reminding me how alone I am. That the people whom I crave to be with aren’t an option.”

Brady grips my hips, pulling me onto his lap.

Wrapping my arms around his neck, I let him hold me, his hands on my ass in a firm grip while I play with his hair. I like this. I could get used to this.

“You're not alone, Ally. Not anymore. I don’t know what it was like for you before last night, but I can tell you now, you have me. You have Lulu. And by the looks of it, Liam and Nate, too.”

“I’m not used to it,” I whisper, hating the vulnerability in my voice.

I’ve been working hard, taking meds, and going to counselling to help deal with the depression.

But there are still moments that creep in, telling me I’m not good enough, that I’m going to be alone forever, or that even though people tell me they want me, I’m not worth the fight to be with.

“Used to what?” he asks, brows furrowing.

“Being wanted.”

He groans. “Oh my sweet, sweet Omega.” He places his forehead to mine. “You have no idea just how wanted and needed you really are.”

“This is amazing!” I laugh as I cling to Brady. We weave our way through the cars as we make our way to the compound. The tour bus was loading up, getting ready to leave, when Nate came back.

The look of horror on his face when he saw me on the back of Brady’s bike, ready to leave, was priceless. I told him we were going to meet him there, and we were off.

I’m sure he called Liam, freaking out. I’m expecting a broody fucker of an Alpha waiting for me when we get there.

“Isn’t it!” he calls back.

I watch the world around us zip by, smiling like a fool as the thrill hums through my body.

When we pull up to the compound through the open gate and park in front of the clubhouse, I’m proven right when I see a very pissed off Liam standing on the deck and a very concerned Lulu beside him.

Oh boy. This isn’t going to be good.

“I told him she was safe with you,” Lulu tells Brady as he gets off the bike, holding his hand out to help me off. “I told him I ride with you all the time.”

“That’s not the same. It’s literally my job to keep her safe. Although I don’t think you should be riding with them either,” Liam growls at Lulu before swinging his angry stare back this way, storming over to Brady. “You're supposed to keep her safe,” Liam growls.

Brady takes his helmet off, shaking out his hair. “She is safe,” Brady growls back.

“She could have died!” Liam snarls.

“That’s a little dramatic,” I tell Liam. He’s overreacting. “Brady knows what he’s doing. He knows how to ride.”

“You could have crashed.” Liam looks at me, anger and panic in his eyes. He really was afraid for me.

“Hey.” I step up to him, and normally I wouldn’t touch him, but knowing I can now, I wrap my arms around his waist. “I’m fine. I’m okay. Brady would never let anything bad happen to me. Same as you. Same with how either of you wouldn’t let harm come to Lulu.”

“I don’t like it,” he mutters. This stubborn, sexy man.

“I know. But you’re going to have to get used to it. Lulu and I have a sexy biker Alpha. You don’t think we’re gonna wanna sit behind him, wrap our arms around him, and go for a ride?” I raise a brow. “Because, babe, I wanna do that again. And again.”

Liam frowns harder. “No.”

“It’s addicting, isn’t it?” Lulu asks, appearing at Liam’s side.

She looks up at Liam, narrowing her eyes.

“I’m not going to stop riding with Gavin and Brady either,” she informs him, speaking firmly.

“I trust them. And like I said, Ally is safe with Brady. He wouldn’t let anything happen to her.

It’s the same risk as getting into any car. ”

“It’s not,” Liam growls. “I’ve read the statistics. There’s a higher fatality rate with motorcycles.”

“Not when we ride them,” Brady says. “That shit doesn’t count with us. We’ve never had a man crash unless provoked.”

“What does that mean?” Liam growls.

“Unless someone was riding our ass, trying to take us down,” Gavin interjects. “Club stuff.”

Liam’s eyes widen. “You keep the girls out of club stuff. That’s the last thing they need.”

“Don’t worry. We didn’t plan on involving her,” Brady growls. “Same as Lulu.”

“Liam.” I grip his chin. “Breathe. Relax. I’m okay.”

He doesn’t look convinced.

So I do something else I’m now allowed to do, thank god. I lean up on my tiptoes, grab the back of his head, and pull him down for a kiss.

He’s stiff at first, taken by surprise, but it doesn't take long for him to grip my waist, growling against my lips, and kissing me like a starved man.

I can’t help but moan, jumping into his arms. It feels like coming home. I’ve craved this man for so fucking long, needing him so damn badly.

“Is it wrong that I’m so turned on right now?” Lulu whispers to someone.

Grinning against Liam’s lips, I pull back to smile down at my long-lost best friend. My girl. My Omega. My lover, like she was always meant to be.

“No,” I laugh. “Because if it were the other way around, I’d feel the same way.”

Her cheeks pinken, and I can’t wait to get her alone. There are so many things I’ve dreamed of doing to her sexy little body, and I’m not sure how long I’ll be able to hold off.

My bet is seventy-two hours, but let’s be real, I’m hoping to taste her sweet slick, and have her moaning my name by the end of the night.

I might not be as experienced with sex as she is, but that doesn't mean I haven’t been dreaming about it and doing my research.

The sound of our bus pulling up outside the gates has Liam setting me on my feet.

“We’re really doing this, huh?” Lulu asks, excitement shining in her eyes. “We’re going on tour with you? I’ve never travelled before.”

“Unfortunately, all the shows left are here in the US. We started in the UK and other countries across the world first. But next world tour, I’ll make sure you get to see it all.”

“That's okay.” She smiles. “I’m happy to go anywhere. As long as it’s with you.”

And now I’m going to cry like a big baby.

I’m unable to stop myself from pulling her into my arms and squeezing her tightly.

She grips me back with just as much force.

“I’ve missed you so fucking much,” I choke out, burying my face into her neck, needing to just hold her, to feel her.

“I’ve missed you, too. So, so much,” her voice breaks.

We stand like this for what feels like hours, just clinging to one another. Like we’re afraid to let go.

“How long do we let them do this?” Gavin asks. “We could pick them up and carry them on the bus.”

That has us both laughing, breaking apart. “No need,” I sniff, smiling as I wipe my eyes.

“We can walk,” Lulu adds, doing the same.

Fuck, it just feels so damn good to see her, her smile, her laugh... damn, it’s everything.

I want to give her the world. To make up for everything I couldn’t do for her when I wanted to.

“Bags are on the bus,” Gavin says.

“Wait, what?” Lulu looks around. “Already?”

“You two were hugging for a good thirty minutes,” Liam chuckles. “We packed up everything.”

“Wow,” I laugh. “Huh. Wasn’t long enough if you ask me.”

Lulu smiles. “Not even close.”

Grabbing her hand, I pull her towards the tour bus. “Come on, sweet cheeks, it’s time I show you the world.”

Lulu laughs. “I can’t wait.”

This is how it should have always been. Her and me against the world.

Only now, we’re not alone.

We never have to be alone again.

The reality of that is life-changing.

Almost too good to be true.

But I’m not going to let that stop me from enjoying every moment that’s to come.
