“Nope, no need to do that,” I laugh. “He’s also scent matched to Lulu. Crazy, I know but in the best way.”
We talk for a while longer. My parents speak to the others, meeting Gavin also.
We fill them in on how Gavin and I aren't together, but we’re becoming fast friends.
The same for Nate and Lulu. They weren’t surprised, saying packs come in all different shapes and sizes.
That as long as we’re happy, that’s all that matters.
By the end of the call, I feel a lot lighter.
“That went well,” I say, ending the call.
“Your parents seem pretty cool,” Gavin says. “I like them.”
“They’re just as I remember.” Lulu laughs. “I’m glad.”
“They’re okay,” I say teasingly. “I think we should have them come visit for Christmas, though. I do miss them.”
I don’t dare suggest we go back there to visit. It’s a small town, and between my fame and Lulu’s family’s past, it would be a recipe for disaster.
“Something your mom said has me thinking,” Nate says.
“How long are we planning on keeping this on the down-low?” he asks, looking between us.
“You're in the public eye, Ally. It’s not going to take long before people start putting two and two together. Especially after you pretty much announced it to the world at the last concert.”
“Sorry about that.” I grimace. “You know coffee and I don’t mix.”
“You say that as if I were the one who gave it to you.” Nate gives me a blank look.
“I was excited, okay!” I throw my hands up in the air. “Sue me.”
Yeah, after that night, the internet blew up with a million different stories on who my mystery pack could be.
Not a single person guessed Lulu and the guys, so, so far, we’re safe. But a lot of people have talked about me, Liam, and Nate making things official. Fans are going to lose their minds when they find out they’re right.
“Everything is so new, exciting, and fun. I don’t want to ruin that with the paparazzi and tabloids finding out.”
“Kind of hard when they follow you around, Ally,” Nate sighs.
“I don’t want to make your life hard. But I need you to buy me as much time as you can.
I don’t care about rumors right now; they can guess whoever they want.
I just don’t want to make any statements at the moment.
As soon as they get names, then Brady, Gavin, and Lulu will get pulled into this world.
I don’t want them to be overwhelmed by that so soon. ”
“Hey.” Lulu places her hand on my thigh, giving it a squeeze.
“Don’t worry about us. I can’t say we’re going to be fine, because we haven’t even scratched the surface of what your life is like.
But we know we want you. We choose you. And however that life might look.
We’ll deal with things as they come, together, okay? ”
“I just don’t want you all to get overwhelmed and realize this isn’t a lifestyle you can live with.”
“Wherever you are, so are we,” Brady declares, gently gripping my chin so I’m looking at him. “We will deal with things as they come, like Lulu said.”
“But–”
“No arguing,” he growls softly. I swallow hard, my body shivering.
“Shit.” His eyes widen. “I didn’t mean that as a command, I—”
“It’s okay.” I cup his cheek. “Breathe.” I can tell he’s about to beat himself up over it. “I know it’s not. Trust me, I know it’s not,” I say sternly. “I know the differences between a demand and an Alpha command. I know you wouldn’t ever do that.”
“I wouldn’t,” he promises. “I’d never.”
He pulls me into his arms, and I close my eyes, just needing a moment to think.
“How about this?” I start. “We do what we can to stay out of the public eye. Of course, I don’t want that to interfere with us being able to enjoy our time exploring the places we go; it just means we need to invest in some good disguises.”
“Dressing up?” Nate grins. “Like role play? Kinky.”
“No,” I laugh, knowing he’s only playing.
“Could be fun.” Lulu shrugs. “I don’t mind putting sunglasses and a hat on if it means we can spend time together."
“How do you feel about wigs?” I ask.
“I’ve always wanted to know what I look like with black hair.” She grins.
“If you two go all Hannah Montana , I don’t think I’ll be able to keep a straight face,” Gavin chuckles.
Mine and Lulu’s eyes light up.
“Don’t give them ideas!” Nate hisses. “Ally, no,” Nate says firmly. “That would draw too much attention. Did you see the outfits they wore? Her sidekick Lilly stuck out like a sore thumb.”
“Her name was Lola Luftnagle, thank you very much.” Lulu giggles.
“Oh god,” Liam groans. “They’re going to do it.”
“Please don’t,” Brady begs.
We’re not going to, but we can’t help but get them going as we smile at one another. “We’ll see.” I shrug.
“Alright, best of both worlds, let's get your sexy ass down to sound check,” Nate says.
Sadly, I know everyone can’t come. A bigger crowd would draw attention. But I wish they could all come with me every time.
Standing, I look at the others. “You're going to be at the concert, right?”
Brady stands and cups my cheek. “We wouldn’t miss it, Sweetheart.” He kisses me with such intensity that it makes my head spin and my core clench. I breathe him in deeply, his scent making me shiver.
“Needed a hit before I go,” I murmur.
He chuckles. “Am I a drug or something?”
“One of the best.” I grin, pulling Lulu over to me. I tuck my face into her neck and breathe deeply with a groan. “She’s the other one.”
“Keep going down this road, and you’re going to start something we don’t have time to finish,” Nate warns, pulling me away from them. “Say goodbye to the pretty Omega and the sexy Alpha. You'll see them later.”
“Bye!” I say dramatically. “I’ll miss you!”
Liam chuckles, kissing Lulu sweetly, saying his goodbyes before following, shaking his head.
“You’re crazy.”
“Eh.” I shrug. “Makes life fun. Now, give me a piggyback ride,” I demand. “My feet are killing me in these heels.”
“Why don’t you just change them then?” he asks, raising a brow.
“Because they’re hot as fuck, hello?” I say as if it’s an obvious answer. “But fuck you. Nate, can you—”
“I’ll do it,” Liam growls.
“Thank you.” I clap my hands. “I love you.”
He blinks at me, his annoyance drifting away. “I love you too.” He cups the back of my head, kissing me softly. “So fucking much,” he growls against my lips. I want him inside me. Right. Now.
Ugh. Damn work getting in the way when this sexy Alpha should be knot deep inside me. Stupid adulting.
Ten out of ten, don’t recommend.
