Liam
As I watch Lulu stand by the dressing room door, saying her parting words to Ally, I’m hit with this conflicting feeling.
My job is to protect Ally, to watch over her. I take my job seriously, not only because it’s my job but because she’s someone I care about more than words can describe. The idea of any harm coming to her makes me want to rip the world apart.
The only thing is, now she’s not the only one I have those feelings for. I feel torn between staying here, doing what I do every day, and going after Lulu.
The idea of being away from her makes me uneasy. It’s too new, too fresh. I feel like a piece of me is walking away.
I don’t know how to process these feelings, and I hate it. I strive to be in control, and right now, I feel anything but.
This is something I’ve both dreamed of and dreaded for the longest time: finding my scent match, for the day to come when I’d finally be with the one person who was chosen for me.
Then I met this feisty little Omega who was thrusted into my world and flipped it upside down, making me question all my decisions.
I kept myself away from her in fear of getting hurt, only to end up being scent matched to someone who would be the one to bring us together.
It terrifies me to know I can finally give in to my feelings for Ally. It feels like it’s too good to be true.
It’s something I’m going to have to talk to Lulu about. I need to make sure she’s truly okay with this. I need to hear the words from her mouth.
Until then, I don’t think I can even allow myself to entertain the idea. Not if it’s only going to lead me to getting my hopes up and my heart crushed.
The fact is, if Lulu isn’t okay with sharing me with Ally, I’ll give Ally up. But I don’t want to. I really don’t fucking want to.
“Liam!” Ally shouts, getting my attention. My eyes snap over to hers. “You’re off the clock.”
“What?” My brows furrow together.
“Grab your stuff, big boy. You're going with them.”
“What do you mean?”
She walks over to me, a soft smile on her pretty face. “A lot has happened today.”
“Yes.” I nod slowly.
“You found your scent match.” She raises a brow.
“I did,” I say slowly again. “And so did you.”
“That I did,” she laughs. “And it’s a pretty big deal.”
“I’d say so.” I cock my head to the side. “What games are you playing, Precious?”
She chews her lower lip. “No games. Not with this.”
“Then what are you talking about? What do you mean, I’m off the clock?
” I’m never off the clock. I’ve never wanted to be.
Other than the few times Skyler and I go home once a year to see our family, I’m always with Ally.
Day and night. When we’re not touring, I’m staying at her house, sleeping in the room down the hall from her.
When we’re on the bus, one of those bunk beds is mine.
When we stay at hotels, I sleep in the next room.
It’s pure fucking torture to be so close to her and know I couldn’t ever take things past that line again.
Still doesn’t keep me from thinking about it every night and day.
I don’t know how to be away from Ally, because I’ve never wanted to be.
“Things are confusing and complicated. We’re both feeling a bunch of new things. And I know one of them is the need to be near our scent matches,” Ally says, and my eyes flick over to Lulu, who’s standing next to Gavin and Brady. She’s watching us.
I lick my lips, looking back down to Ally. “Are you feeling the same way?”
“Yes,” she admits. “But I know Brady has to go with Gavin so they can do what they need to do before coming on tour with us. I’ll be okay.
.. I think.” She laughs, and I frown. She’s putting on a brave face.
She wants to be with Brady right now. How is it fair that I go with Lulu when she can’t go with Brady?
“You’re overthinking it,” she groans, grabbing my hand. She drags me over to Lulu and her Alphas. “Lulu, take your Alpha.” She grabs Lulu’s hands and places it in mine. “I know if he doesn’t go with you tonight, he’s going to drive me up the wall pacing the tour bus with the need to go to you.”
“Are you sure?” I ask Ally.
Ally narrows her eyes. “Listen here, buddy. This girl right here.” She points to Lulu. “She’s your Omega. You don’t need to ask me for permission when it comes to her. I have no say.”
I open my mouth, but she covers it with her hand. “Nope. Don’t want to hear it. Go, take my girl home. Get her ready, then bring her back to me tomorrow. That’s it. Go, have fun.” She wiggles her eyebrows.
I can’t help but smirk. This girl is something else. How could I have ever thought she would leave me when she found her scent match?
Here she is, standing next to hers, and she’s still here.
I hate that I automatically assumed my scent match would make me give up Ally, too. Because here she is, smiling up at me with those pretty blue eyes that melt my damn soul, loving the same girl I do.
My whole world has been rocked, and so is how I think about everything that's happened in my life, and what's about to come.
“Okay.” I know arguing with Ally isn’t going to get me anywhere. And honestly, seeing her stand up for Lulu makes me hard. So fucking weird.
“Good. Now go.” She kisses Lulu softly. “I’ll see you tomorrow?” The bit of fear in her voice kills me. I know how much this means to Ally to have Lulu back in her life.
“Of course.” Lulu smiles back.
“Wait.” Brady steps forward, and the urge to growl isn’t as bad as it was. At first, with how he talked to Ally, I was ready to rip his head off. And while the overwhelming changes that have happened tonight aren’t an excuse for his words, I understand what he’s feeling.
Cupping Ally’s face, Brady leans down and kisses her. A soft whimper leaves her, and a moment later, we’re all hit with Ally’s perfume, a smell I’m obsessed with.
I have to smother a groan, my cock perking up.
“Be safe,” Brady murmurs against her lips. “I’ll see you tomorrow?”
Ally nods, biting her lower lip with this lust-filled look on her face. “Mhhmm.”
He takes a step back, looking pained to be leaving her behind.
“I’ve got her.” Nate places his hand on my back.
I look down at my Beta and nod. I know this man is on cloud nine right now. Cheeky little bastard. But I can’t say I’m upset. He’s been trying to get me to get over my past and be with Ally for a while now.
“Call me if you need me, okay?” I tell Ally. “Doesn’t matter the time.”
“I’m a big girl. I’ll be okay.” Ally rolls her eyes. “I have plans on playing poker with the guys. Need to get my money back from last weekend,” she grumbles.
I look at Nate. “Don’t let my brother weasel more money out of her.”
“Hey, no one weaseled anything out of me,” she protests.
“Babe, you’re shit at poker and Skyler is nearly a professional. He’s playing you.”
“You’re mean,” she huffs. “Lulu, take this meanie away from me.” She shoos me away.
I chuckle, and Lulu laughs. “Gladly.” Lulu smiles up at me, and it takes my damn breath away.
This is going to take some getting used to, but I can’t deny how right it feels. Like this is meant to be.
“Ahh, how are we getting home?” Lulu asks when we get outside the building. There are still cars leaving from the concert. “We rented a limo to come here.”
“Well, we’re not going to fit in Ally’s little bug,” I grumble. “Let me call for a car.”
“Wait, Ally still has that car?” Lulu looks up at me with wide eyes.
“Oh yeah,” I chuckle. “She has one of the roadies drive it around while we’re on tour. She makes me drive the damn thing whenever she can.”
“You can fit in it?” Lulu snorts out a laugh. “God, I’d love to see that.”
“Like a clown in a clown car,” Gavin says.
“It’s what I feel like when I’m in it,” I sigh, making the phone call for the car.
A few minutes go by, and Lulu talks to the guys while we wait. I don’t feel ignored exactly; her hand is still tightly in mine, I just feel a little out of place. She’s been with these Alphas for a little while now. They’re a pack. I’m just the new guy.
No. I can’t think of myself that way. I’m Lulu’s, too. Just as much as these guys are. I’m not going to let any insecurities influence my decisions.
The car pulls up, and I open the door for Lulu. “Thanks.” She smiles.
I smile, giving her a wink.
She slides in, and I nod for the guys to join her. “I’ll take the front.”
The whole car ride there, I’m watching Lulu from the rearview mirror. And she’s watching me, smiling.
I feel like a young boy with his first crush. I want to know everything there is to know about her.
The address the guys gave the driver takes us to this fenced-off compound, and that’s when I remember these guys are a part of an MC. A real-life MC.
A little bit of unease fills me. This world is a hell of a lot different than the one I’m used to living in. I’m not sure how to act.
I guess just not stepping on anyone's toes and being respectful would be a good start.
We get out, and Lulu is at my side again, slipping her little hand into mine. “Thanks for coming tonight. Not going to lie, I’m glad Ally insisted. I think I’d be going out of my mind if I had to be away from you.”
“Is it crazy for me to be feeling the same way?” I ask, voice gruff.
“No,” she laughs, shaking her head. “I think that’s how this whole scent match thing works.”
“Don’t remind me,” Brady grumbles.
Lulu’s face falls. “Baby, why don’t you let Gavin handle things and go back to the bus?”
“I can’t,” he sighs heavily. “We have to talk to Dad, fill him in on everything.”
“I can do that part by myself,” Gavin says. “Why are you even here? Go. Get back in that car and go see your Omega.”
He looks from Lulu to Gavin and back to Lulu. “Are you sure?”
“Man, if you don’t, I think I might have to kick your ass. The idea of Ally being in any sort of pain from being away from you makes me pissed.” I raise a brow.
“Fuck,” he groans. “I didn’t even think about it. I’m going out of my mind right now. I can only imagine what she’s feeling. God, I’m an idiot."
