Page 15 of Knot So Damaged
Istare at the door of the private room after mydolce ciliegiagave me the dressing down of my life.
I haven't been this drawn to someone in a long time.
After my world was torn to pieces years ago, I gave up on ever finding love again. I had come to the conclusion that my pack would be alone for the rest of our lives.
Because I didn’t think that anyone would ever compare to her.
Untilher.
Initially, I didn’t know what to think when I heard the scuffling coming from the dark alleyway last night. This area of Vadena is sketchy at the best of times.
But coming face to face with that fuckwit Gerald with that sweet girl in his arms was not on my bingo card for the night after meeting with the Angels.
It was like a red haze came over my vision.
Women getting hurt is not something I tolerate. Not in my fucking city.
I know that both my packmates Conall and Olis feel the same.
We didn’t even have to communicate verbally. Having worked alongside both my brother and best friend since we formed our pack inhigh school, we don’t need to. We automatically know what the other is thinking before we act. Which is why Conall and Olis pulled Gerald off her while I helped to comfort the girl.
Cherry.
God, it suits her. Even though I know that isn’t her real name.
Her scent doesn’t give me anything. Her being a Beta makes it more neutral.
She looked so breakable looking up at me, cowered in fear. Something in my heart snapped when her eyes met mine.
There is only one other time that I felt that feeling.
It doesn’t make sense though. How could that Beta be mine? Alphas have always been destined to mate with Omegas. I know of many Betas that are a part of packs—having relationships with both the Alphas and Omega—but it is rare that they would form without an Omega.
Yet here I am, stalking the woman that I have quickly become obsessed with.
All it took was one look.
After she ran off on me, I followed closely behind her in the shadows, vowing to protect what I know is mine. She didn’t run for long before she entered an apartment building that has seen better days.
I don’t know how long I stood outside of the building before I eventually left before returning first thing the next morning.
Color me shocked when she finally left after making me wait all day to see her, only to follow her into The Throbbing Knot.
I couldn’t help but cringe at the thought of her in there. I know Ivan relatively well. The weasel loves sucking up to me in the hopes that I will help to further his business in the underground.
Jokes on him because I refuse to have anything to do with the skin trade. I have no issues with prostitution, as long as there is consent. Something Ivan doesn’t care about.
He wants to dip his toes in depravity.
I have heard a magnitude of whispers about the shading dealings in his club. Dealings that he knows I don’t appreciate.
As I sat in the corner of the club, nursing my whiskey on the rocks, I already made up my mind that I was going to ‘buy’ the club from Ivan. A decision that became affirmative when my angel graced me with her presence.
It was impossible to take my eyes off the way she sensually moved her body to the music. It is clear that this isn’t just a job for her.
It seems that my girl genuinely likes to dance.
I knew that I had to see more once her set ended.
