Page 145 of Hell Fae Captive
She belongs here.
She belongs with us.
Ty sauntered toward our bedroom with a glass of red wine in one hand and his tablet in the other, his eyebrow lifting as he found me naked in the bed on top of the sheets.
“You seem pleased,” he murmured, leaning against the doorjamb and pausing to admire the view.
“Not nearly enough, my king,” I told him, reaching down to give myself a lazy stroke. “Join me?”
He considered me as he took a long sip of his wine. “Only if you tell me what we’re celebrating.”
Always so smart, my Ty,I thought, grinning at him. “Camillia has finally accepted one of my gifts.”
“Oh?” He pushed away from the door to wander toward me, his long legs graceful as he moved. “And which spell did she use?”
“Not a spell.” I reached for his wine as he stopped beside the bed, taking a sip for myself. “Something else.”
“Are you going to tell me what that something else is?”
“It’s not tangible,” I promised him.
He opened the drawer of the nightstand to set his tablet inside. “I believe we agreed that was for the first round before the initial trial. You’re allowed three tangible gifts now.” He glanced up at me. “Within reason, Melek.”
“Am I?” I feigned innocence. “Maybe I’m not the one who chose to present her gifts for this round.”
That gave him pause. “Someone else has chosen your candidate?”
I smiled. “Two someones, I think.”
He straightened, instantly alert. “Who?”
I allowed my gaze to roam over his fit form. “Remove your clothes and I’ll tell you.”
“A deal?”
“A request,” I countered. “Please.”
He glanced down my body to my throbbing groin, his dark sapphire gaze pulsating with interest. “Only because you asked nicely.” He pulled his shirt off first, revealing all those sharply carved lines and muscular ripples. His pants went next, leaving him clad in a pair of black briefs that he didn’t touch as he joined me on the bed. Something told me I’d be removing those with my teeth soon.
That was fine.
I enjoyed exposing him in my own way.
He sat against the headboard, his long legs crossing at the ankles just like mine.
Then his palm went to my thigh, a touch meant to tease. “Who?” he repeated.
That single question was underlined with immense power, and it held an underlying meaning, too. If I asked him to remove the competition, he would. Just like he would bring Cami to me right now if I requested it.
But that wasn’t how I wanted to play this game.
It wasn’t about forcing Cami to choose us.
It was about proving to her where she belonged by way of putting all the pieces of the puzzle together.
Ajax was a powerful acquisition that I’d been after for a while. It didn’t surprise me at all that Camillia De la Croix was the one to seduce him into the inner circle.
Well, perhaps notfullyinto the circle, anyway. He still lingered around the edge. But Cami would be the one to push him into the center and force him to take his place within this sphere of power.
